1) It bugs me when people start saying stuff like "It's just a joke why are you getting so offended?" If I offended someone, even unintentionally, I would apologise. Plus, just saying it's a joke won't suddenly make me think "Oh well, that's ok. Come insult my entire belief system anytime."
2) In reference to the debate about whether Jesus existed. Apparently there is more evidence that Jesus existed than there is evidence that Julius Caesar existed.
3) I don't get why atheists are so keen to convert believers to atheism. Personally I think it's great if people become Christians but that's because I believe that if they do they'll go to heaven which sounds like a pretty amazing place. But what do atheists get out of it? All it means is people will attend church and read the bible less. Can anyone actually explain this to me? |

Whoever made this is obviously an athiest trying to get their "point" across. Therefore, the dude who created this is going to hell, for, 1. being a dumbass, and 2. for being an athiest, but mostly for being a dumbass. |

Why is it that when Christians try to persuade others that their view is right they're labelled as 'bible bashers' or similar. But if a non-believer comes along and gives their side (non-offensive or otherwise) they are labelled as some great genius for 'finally seeing the truth'. |

I actually thought the quiz made an interesting point. Despite some of the wholesome teachings of the bible, it is also filled with hypocrisy, violence and injustices. People say the bible is the infallible word of god, but its content begs to question whether it can be taken seriously. Most Christians I have encountered don't seem to be aware of the contradictions within the bible. It makes me wonder how someone can so voraciously cling to a belief system when they haven't even read the scriptures for it. |

UM I think this is supposed to be funny... but it's not. It's dumb. And if you were offended by it, you need to realize that whoever wrote it is trying to be funny... but they have a very boring and stupid sense of humor.

I only read the first page of comments but I have to say that if you read not only the verse this misguided dolt quoted, but the whole chapter, you will see how out of context he got everything. It reminds me of that old movie Porky's II (Yeah, not the most christian movie ever LOL, hell not even the best Porky's) to the part where the principal and the reverand are arguing (the rev was the bad guy btw) and the rev said that even Satan can quote scripture for his own perpose. Rev was an non-nice individual, but his point is valid, especialy here. |

Im an atheist and i thought that was wrong and lame. I agree that this Jesus figure wasnt an all loving hippy and did say stuff about hell and dividing by the sword, but he preached some love too. and im sure some of the phrases were said by Paul. |

There are many, MANY books in various countries dealing with these people, as well as first-hand accounts from people who knew them. All we have for Jesus is the Bible. Thank you LtFurpie. It doesn't take a deity to tell you if something you do is going to harm another person and is thus wrong. Simple human empathy can teach you that. THAT is what ethics truly are. If "godless" chimpanzees in the wild can be use empathy, than we can without religious bias.
And liquid, SATAN didn't talk anyone into doing anything. The bible refers to the figure in Eden as "The Serpent." The serpent, in every other culture, has always been revered as a teacher of wisdom, so it is logical that whoever wrote Genesis would use that idea as well as the dozens of other culture's myths combined to write it.
The word Satan is a poor translation of the Hebrew word Al-Satan (ahl sahtahn), which means Adversary or Prosecutor and was never applied to any one specific angel. And it was never referred to as an adversary of God. Al Satan was a title given to any angel who attempted to show God man's folly. God=Judge, Satan=Prosecuting attorney. |
