para mate, relative size has nothing to do with it... can you name the regions of Russia? The provinces of Canada? "Counties" is just what in the UK are considered "States". e.g. Yorkshire, Lancashire, Kent etc etc. UK Counties are made up of many Parishes. Whatever name you put on it, the point was, knowledge of US states should be no more part of global geography than any semi-autonomous regions of any given country. I hope I made that point clear. |

davymid: Im not so sure about that, you see the UK is about the same or smaller than some US states. In fact US states are also made up of many counties. |

6/8I couldn't find Afghanistan. I'm afraid I have to admit got stuck on New York. I nearly chose the right one but i changed my mind and went for another. Those North-East states are so confusing 'cos they are so bunched together. I feel stupid for that, It's easier with the Western states  |

^^ Sorry Dainty, not the same thing... US is a country. If you want the equivalent, you would know all the Counties of the UK, all the Provinces of France, etc etc. |

Ooops, only got 6/8. I guessed on the language thing, and I forgot where Afghanistan was. Maybe I should pay more attention in World Civ. and Geography in school, huh? And when I was in 5th grade (which really wasn't too long ago, I'm a highschooler) I didn't learn these facts. |
