can we just please blow up kentucky though? does anyone really like it? really?

also, people who are hurt by cyberbullies are big fat pussies. when people are asses to me a talk to them like this. The real world isn't some goddamned merry go round where everything is happy and colorful and theres happy government propaganda music playing. No.

Would any of you really give a poo if someone said you were alchoholic whores who live in pooty neighborhoods? I wouldn't. because it's just soem annymous fag who doesn't know you. get the hell over it. Stop coating my internet with bubble wrap.

next thing you know they'll kill pr0n because it's -immoral- in one fat virgin's opinion.

figures that the person who owns the site gets fined instead of the guy who is bullying the person

I guess those people warning children not to use their personal information are just going against the government, then.

the internet is full of crazy people and as much as i want to kill cyber bullies and trolls, there is no way we can get rid of them. this law is totally not gonna happen.

With the advent of proxies and other such anonymous connection services, they would have no way of tracing the attack. But forget that. Even if they did, how would they deal with them? There are plenty of ways to misconstrue a comment on the internet as a personal attack, and there are plenty of crazy people on the internet who would make up false charges. And just how would we deal with the sheer number of people filling our jails just because they called someone a faggot in a chatroom? I mean, good lord, half of these people would be kids. The fact is, there's no way this law would pass. No way in hell, in fact, because any self-respecting judge would see the implications of this idiocy and cut it at the bud.

Haha! 1984, here we come!

But seriously, folks. Everyone on here, with the exception of MAYBE Aric is an anonymous poster. Unless you give out your full name and identity that's just what you are. This is what makes the internet so beautiful and useless. You can be anyone you want to be on the internet, from a 15 year old girl to a burly viking man and no one would ever be able to tell the difference. Even if this law goes through and we're forced to have names online, there's no reason we couldn't just lie about it. They can't change the way the internet works (especially not in other countries), and if they did they would have to create a special brand new internet for the US and it's totalitarian gov't. Maybe call it... Freedom-net, since the word freedom has somehow become synonymous with the destruction of personal liberties. The truth is, even if they made it where a victim of "internet bullying" were to phone in an attack, how would they know who did it? cont.

Already did, unfortunately it died withing a minute.

Also it wouldn't effect the world, just servers in the U.S. Also companies would go bankrupt from having to having to have better servers. It takes up more memory, more bandwidth, all that.

lol, Phantom7 that's such a stupid statement: "i do not do anything wrong so i don't really mind".

It's not about be able to do wrong and get away with it, ti's the fact that your name and address would be publicly available for anyone to find. Privacy is already a problem, this would make it even worst.

That is poo. If that ever happened, the entire internet would shut down. Full names, emails and ADDRESSES? Wtf? Hell to that. We're already a paranoid world, we don't need to add to it.

I have been puting off creating an account here just because I was too lazy to click the few buttons, but I felt obliged to comment on this... This is just rediculous, this infringes on our 1st amendment, and is therefore unconstitutional. Which pretty much means it cant happen. And even if by some freak way it did, as stated above, people will just move their servers to overseas servers, thus eliminating the necessity of personal info. Which would still mean, internets-1,000,000,000 Gov't-0

"Some said they felt it was a violation of First Amendment rights. Others say it is a good tool toward eliminating online harassment."

Damn, confusion, I agree with both standpoints. There IS too much trolling on the nets, but it's also a place to be silly without repercussions.
What to do, what to do.

:O But then everyone on World of Warcraft (or similar fantasy RP games) will have to give up their tough-sounding nicknames "Org Eater of Children" and admit their much less frightening real names "Myron B. Pennybottom" or whatever >.> that, it seems, would lead to more bullying.

Awful jokes aside, I'd like to see this Kentucky bloke find my country on a map, never mind banning me from posting anonymously at home.
