Just to put in my two cents regarding the whole "furry debate": I like to consider myself a pretty open-minded person, and I know that not all furries are into bestiality, however, I still don't think that expressing ones-self as an animal by wearing a fursuit (or by drawing pictures and giving your drawings personalities) is exactly healthy. It makes me think there must be some reason as to why you turned to that sort of lifestyle. It seems like a coping mechanism. I don't hate furries, but I admit to thinking that you're weird. To be honest, if you are a furry and you announce it you should expect people to look at you funny and to make less-than-kind comments... especially if you do so online. |

Everybody thinks just because they're furries, they want to f--- their dog or cat or Shamu.

- I'm a furry
- I'm a 21-year old heterosexual male.
- I'm in my second year of working for NASA as a co-op.
- I've gotten offers to return to NASA once I am out of college.
- At college, I am in the honors section.
- I am also one of the leaders in a major group there.
- I've already written most of my doctoral thesis on a yet-unstudied field of fractal mathematics (though I have to have it revised, and I won't actually be working towards my PhD for another two years).

I believe people will hate whatever they feel compelled to hate, no matter how ignorant that hatred is. So as much as all of this hate upsets me, I just want to ask why this hatred exists. Do people have to use a shotgun to get furries off their lawns? Are they a physical threat? Are they actively persecuting people who are different from themselves? |
