Tuesday, September 18, 2007 10:10:14 PM I'm better at metrics, but that's because that's what they teach in school and I am still in school |

Friday, September 14, 2007 10:11:00 PM there starting to teach us americans only metric, at least in private schools. the only reason i know imperial units is because im sorrounded by it, but ive never had an "ounce" of class time devoted to imperial, and "tons" towards metric (chemistry, physics etc) |

Thursday, September 13, 2007 8:19:15 PM i somehow got better in imperial than metric, by guessing my way through imperial, and then havng never heard of a base unit before. oh well, false stats! |

Thursday, September 13, 2007 7:08:58 PM This is prejudice towards the US because it's pointed towards British people. You British people aren't the only ones on the internet.Sorry, I had to (for the dense: the above was a joke due to the response US-based quizzes usually get) Scored like... 3/5 on imperial (all guessing, so I guess that's 0/5) and 3/5 on metric without guessing. |

Thursday, September 13, 2007 5:57:34 PM 1/5 Imperial, 5/5 Metric. The British stuff is pretty off from what we use in USA. In my job I deal with metric regularly, as a result it has become first nature to me. The closest I come to "American" measurements would be SAE or mph. PS: SAE is being phased out of auto industry, don't see that very often anymore. :) |

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 11:24:08 PM i live in the U.S., I was taught the S.A.E. measurements ( inch, foot yard, mile) I am a cabinet maker working on almost entirely on "American" cabinets and I would love to switch to the metric system. pretty much all you gotta know is 10 |

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 7:56:52 PM And as an aside, although I don't understand it (i.e. can't tell you how far it is in kilometers to work, but I know it's 15 miles), metric is infinitely better, since it is universally divisible by 10. Even though the meter was just as fabricated as the foot. Look up it's history, quite interesting, actually. 200 posts! woohoo!

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 7:53:27 PM 3/5 Imperial, 4/5 Metric. I'm surprised I did so poorly at Imperial, having used it my whole life. I didn't know what a 'Hand' or a 'Furlong' were equal to. |

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 6:38:01 PM In elementary school we only learnt metric. Foot and inch were considered the "old" system, the one your "old" parent would use. In college we learned the metric (International) and imperial (US) system because the way the manufacturing industry work. |

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 6:34:21 PM Even though I live in the USA, we still learn the metric system. Why is there even an imperial system? |

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 5:52:35 PM I use neither so I got 1/5 on both by guessing. I never even heard of Imperial... |

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 5:51:20 PM There was a mistake, its milli, centi, dezi!!!! base unit kilo they forgot the dezi... its helpful for converting forinstance 1 litre of milk is exactly 1dm³ (quibic-dezimeter) |

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 5:43:28 PM You don't even have to know the metric system to understand it. Multiples of ten are way better then lengths pulled out of ones ass. |
