Limbaugh is a non-nice individual. He is my guitar teacher's cousin and even he hates him.

I hate Rush Limbarf and I'm in favor of stem-cell research, but Fox was definately hamming it up for the ad. Somebody needs to smack him.

"i dont think its ok for a baby to lose their life, so som rich guy can save his."
Its not a baby yet by any means, its a single cell. It won't loose its life, just have its function changed. I don't see how it is humane to not to use stem-cells. Protecting the 'baby' it comes from,(that doesn't even have a functioning brain yet) over a once fully-functioning full grown human that can feel pain. Denying embryonic stem-cell is torture, if not murder.

'What if one of the embryo's would grow up to cure cancer?!' What if the same embryo went to cure an already existing genius with ALS so advanced, imo the worst genetic disorder known? Or what if it went to cure someone you loved, rich or poor?

"Take a look at your epidermis. (That's skin for you slower mouth-breathing morons out there) In each square centimeter there are literally hundreds of thousands of stem-cells. Stem cells are, to put it very simply, cells that can grow into any other kind of cell."
First - I rezent that, I breeth thru my mowth that dunt make me none dumer.
You are really really really over-simplifying stem cells. A stem-cell for skin produces skin, so you cannot just make a skin stem-cell produce liver cells. The stem-cells in question are embryonic stem-cells; meaning stem-cells that are formed when the zygote splits. In the long run, embryonic stem-cells will not be available just by the left overs from fertility clinics, not to mention 'left-overs' could be frozen for several years potentially reducing the effectiveness. So cloning stem-cells will eventually be needed.
Take your thesaurus else where when trying to sound smart you ignorant prick.

Wow, that's really just sad.

Funny thing is, I just happened to see a MJF movie the other night at like 4:00AM when it came on.

Makes you think, doesn't it.

"I do not believe that those with viewpoints differing from mine should leave..."

Ah, I don't think I've been able to use the same quote twice, delightful!:

"All of those that think America is not the best country in the world, do everyone a favor and move on out..."

I admit I was presumptuous in my assertion that you are a culturally isolated individual, but I remain adamant that you possess many the same superficial qualities as one.

"You see i do not think that those who hate our country should be forced to move out..."

How to respond? I'll answer with a quote of what you said on page 2:

"All of those that think America is not the best country in the world, do everyone a favor and move on out..."

You may want to adopt only one of those statements as your opinion (might I suggest the one that makes you look best?).

"i simply think that there is no other place in the world where they would be allowed such liberty to express themselves"

And here you are, suggesting others should *not* be able to express themselves:

"Canadians seem to think that they can have an opinion in our politics."

You'd be wrong, though: Germany is very liberal in terms of freedom of expression, there being only a general societal consensus that nudity supersedes violence in terms of what is more appropriately accessible and viewable by the public.

Dear uneducated, encephalic, mouth-breathing morons that believe that stem-cells = cloning.

Take a look at your epidermis. (That's skin for you slower mouth-breathing morons out there) In each square centimeter there are literally hundreds of thousands of stem-cells. Stem cells are, to put it very simply, cells that can grow into any other kind of cell.

And while I can still see the blank expression in your eyes, telling me that it's still cloning. Let me lay a simple truth upon your simple mind. Your cells clone themselves, constantly. It's called mitosis and it's what keeps you alive. Weither god likes it or not, you're a totally new human in a span of 5 years. Your liver's cells clone themselves every 3 months...

Are you going to argue that a cell has rights? That they have a will to power?

These sick accusations of 'clone armies' are products of the right-wing's overactive, megalomaniacal imagination.

I find superstition to be far more frightening and destructive than sci

If he was acting, it was to prove a nessesary point.

After all, how many campaign ads *don't* feature actors?

The point is NOT persuing stem cell research in all forms would be unconsciable.

I have visited Canada for an extended period of time, in fact I have family that lives in Canada. You see i do not think that those who hate our country should be forced to move out, i simply think that there is no other place in the world where they would be allowed such liberty to express themselves. Seeing that the America is an oasis of freedom in the world should cause people to be a little more appreciative of their liberties. I do not believe that those with viewpoints differing from mine should leave, our ability to freely express ourselves is what makes our country great! I am ultra patriotic when it comes to my love and respect for my country, WE have a good thing here in America, and im sure that many other people feel the same about their country. It is our right to stand up for our nations, and we should do so whenever needed. I apologize for some of my neg comments towards Canada, they went a bit far.

"i dont think its ok for a baby to lose their life, so som rich guy can save his."

and if that were truly the case, I wouldn't support stem cell research either. We are not wantonly killing babies in the name of this field of research, they are embryos that WOULD BE DISCARDED ANYWAY. Why not use them?

Overpopulation after major medical advancements has always been a concern of mine as well jj. As humans, we tend to forget about future generations, only thinking about what is important to us NOW.
That said, I still support stem cell research (yes, I'm a hypocrite). The science behind it is just incredible.

I have read many misnomers through out these threads, let's start with the first, 1. Stem cell research will not use abortions, it will use embryos from fertility clinics that would have been discarded, a fetus does not have the undesigned stemcell, thus the name Embryonic Stem cell, so right to lifers do your home work.
2. Canada has assisted us for years, and to the dumbasses who think that they weren't there on Normandy, you need to actually open a book and read, they have backed our play in every war except the ovethrow off Iraq, why? Because they were smart and trusted their operatives intel, the U.S. did not. 3. Michael J. Fox is an American citizen, and he is suffering the side affects of the drugs that stabilize Parkinsons, that is why he shakes, otherwise he would appear like Terry Schivo(another proud consevative moment) 4. Conservatives must learn to enforce the laws and not re-write them to their profit, they enjoy the rich get richer and the poorer get the picture.

Sorry one more thing, violence breeds violence, and greed drives big business. America is at war with someone at least every ten years, sustaining the gun and artilary sect. America spends millions to fund wars and the pockets of corporate America. Don't need a big army if you don't wage war/make enemies. Canada spends money to progress not regress. Or 'liberal' programs save lives(universal healthcare-no one dying because they are too poor)! So you fight your wars, but leave us out of it-Canada barely has anything in common with the US these days anyway, and IMO that's a good thing.
