'xtreme_dude': Chimps wouldn't evolve into humans. Chimpanzee's and modern-day humans share a common ancester, meaning they both arose from one species (a process called speciation) gradually evolving into what we see them as today.

Darwin said species are just a snapshot of evolution, because things are constantly changing. Like if you took a photograph of yourself everyday until you died - it would slowly change.

P.S. you shouldn't fear offending somebody's religious beliefs. Religious people don't hesitate to offend your own beliefs with their indoctrination and presumption.

We go into nuclear winter, winter subsides, species spread out, pretty smart monkeys start walking on thier hind legs in order to survive the harsh enviorment, they evolve, they breed, they become humans, humans !@#$ everything up, and we are right where we started. Crap!

gee, all for me, i'm flattered, actually i believe you think everyone else is a brainless idiot & you consider yourself an under appreciated genius, on a subject like this, scientists do work on both sides & come to opposite conclusions, only if it's alarming does it get attention, kind of like if i state broj is a kind rational minded thinker, doesn't get much attention, but if i say your one of the most judgmental, accusatory, full of hot air persons, i've dealt with in recent times, then i get a reaction

btw, please don't "pop", it's ok that you created an account just so you could school me & ended up spreading you fears all over iab, it's really ok, welcome aboard!

Oh, for god's sake, Saintnick! Just because my opinion is different from yours it doesn't mean you have to post links like"MASS EXTINCTION UNDERWAY". Once again, you seem to have missed the point; I do not support mass extinction, nor does the original link ("If humans dissapeared") say that. It merely shows a possible scenario if mankind dissapeared, but that doesn't mean the author is trying to convince everyone to commit suicide! It is underlining the impact people have on the environment. But of course, if someone who refused to be brainwashed by teachers, also refused to let them brainwash him into a correct interpretation of texts . . .

saintnick, really, you shouldn't take criticism in such a way.
It's not healthy. People have different opinions on different matters, but you can't actually expect me to agree with you on the fact that there is no proof that global levels of some gases were lower before than they are now.
Wanna know why? because if you took the time to do some serious research, you'd find that scientists have been carrying out investigations for years to study human impact on the environment. you tell me to stay in school and be careful with brainwashing teachers . . .
let me just tell you that I do not base my opinions on what other people tell me, but on my own judgement; drawing conclusions from what I can see and understand, not simply denying facts based on nothing.

i don't think humans are the cause, nor do i believe anyone can prove or dis-prove this, honestly just like death & the most popular afterlife, i think certain folks feel a calling to claim they have a grasp on what is impossible to comprehend

& just because there is no valid argument against, does not make it true

wow broj, since there is no precedent there is nothing to measure or validate hence just a guess, gut feel, psychic prediction, agenda

to say, it "may" be a good idea, or perhaps why not "just in case", i can see this, to say it is happening, there is no proof just charlatans

humans are not powerful enough, not at billion or 100 trillion, it's just not possible

to make the world inhospitable for humans not entirely possible but a much better case, since we have precedence. you cannot take the same matter & use it to destroy itself, it's i m p o s s i b l e, the earth will take a natural course with or without humans with little to no effect

stay in school & careful about the brainwashing emotional rants of the teachers

Ok, this go to all those seemingly brainless idiots out there: 1) global temperature changes (as well as other physical and climatical changes on Earth) happen naturally; the problem is, not at the rate they are now. 2)gases contributing to the green house effect are indeed caused by rumiants and other sources, but once again, mankind has taken those levels to a critical point. 3) It is true, this is not some crap to take people's money, as somebody mentioned above. 4) Earth would obviously be better off if mankind had never existed. However, that is not the case. "If Humans Dissapeared" is only meant to illustrate how long it really takes the Earth to recover from the various waste we throw. If you read it carefully, you will realise that at the very end, it mentions how, despite many harmful agents of pollution would go away with time if human activity ceased immediately, there are other things -like radiation- that takes millions of years to dissapear.

"Overmann, we can start with you."

As long as everyone else followed, that'd be fine with me. Or were you trying to insult me?

"(animals i guess, but theyre just boring. and they probably wouldnt notice too much.)"

Humans *are* animals. And I think they would notice by the sheer fact that their species would still exist to notice.
