I know I've been away for awhile, but I seem to remember Open Forums on IAB being a big deal, and running fifteen pages or longer.

I'm surprised too. I expected 100+ by now. I know we have a lot of people still here, but they aren't saying much.

The presidents have all been puppets of the rich starting with JFK. Or are you stupid or something?

Happy Birthday, neighbors! For all your faults, you have the most noble ideals around, and most of the world's emigrants still call the USA their first choice for the country they want to live in. That's something.

You wouldn't believe how many tries it took to get the formatting to work. I feel ashamed I relinquished some of my moral fortitude. He is surely deserving of all 1000 characters laughing in unison at that statement but I caved, quoted, and used spaces which took up valuable room which should have been spent laughing at Ollies expense.

I apologize iab. I am sorry.

I was disappointed when Obama was elected in 2008; however, when he was re-elected in 2012, I was ashamed.

I don't think I have either one. I don't have a particular love for my current country, and I don't feel connected to it. If I were to have either one for a country, it would be Ireland.

There's a difference between patriotism and nationalism.

I think there is a potential that the "ever impending onset of technology... " could lead to a rise in nationalism.

@slut_etta - I didn't say it's a bad thing. It is what it is.

@CG - I think the rise in technology could make a difference. I have never felt that patriotic stuff. I'm from wherever I happen to be at the time. I've never been in one place and liked it enough to call it home.

With the ever impending onset of technology and the shrinking of global divides do you guys think we will begin to see a drop in patriotism for people's individual countries as we associate less with where we are born?

It's all imaginary drating lines but people have and continue to kill over them.

Rob and Jake - Captain America was really Irish. That's the real reason he was so tough. The other story is just a good cover.

I don't understand why people refer to July 4th as a "birthday". I understand what the day is about but how is it a birth?

Happy Birthday 'Merkins!

And just be grateful we Irish invented Whiskey - otherwise WE might have taken over the world!
