I think it's supposed to be really abstract. I think it's pretty cool. Do it a couple of times until you like it's representation of you. The line widths and stuff are mathematically abstracting your data and they can do it in lots of different ways. I think that's why you get different results. |

Interestingly enough, I never said not liking Mondrian made you a moron. I said not knowing what a Mondrian painting makes you uncultured, considering it's part of our Wal-Mart culture. In fact, I am not a huge Mondrian fan. I don't like being misqouted. |

I'm with dwi. Just because we're not all expert Mondrian artists doesn't mean we can't have opinions about them. Who really care's if a bunch of people dislike it anyways? |

Oh, goddessdyane, people have different opinions about different types of art. Some people like it, some people don't. Just because someone doesn't like that kind of art doesn't mean they are automatically considered morons. |

At least Leenukuh and I agree. :)Andread, I'll tell you what: If you think you can make an ACCURATE imitation of a Mondrian within a three day period, either post an email or IM name on here and I'll pay you $50 to create it and ship it to me. If you don't want to do a Mondrian, I'll even go for a Pollack or other "simple" art. |

this site is kind of cool, a bit of a one off. I tried a wacky one, where I was a 66 year old woman who was hispanic, married, with kids, wanting more, 7'11" and interested in everything with auburn hair and green eyes, it was the most boring mondrian ever! |

godessdyane, art is something that takes EFFORT, WILL and HARD WORK to make, not just grabbing a paintbrush and swing it around a blank frame, FFS I DID THAT IN KINDERGARTEN BUT MINE AREN'T WORTH MILLIONS OF DOLLARS!!! |

goddesdyane, i think you could be right about the earth tones. I think the problem with art is that people just look at it. And based upon what they see they either think it's nice(pretty) or not(ugly) while there is more to it then that.It's about the ideas behind it. |

Umm, yeah, considering that this style is still so popular you can buy a print of it at Wal-Mart along with Michaelango's cherubs and Monet's fields, you should know who Mondrian is. Just because it didn't happen like two seconds ago on MTV doesn't make it invalid art. I adore how people who criticize modern art usually 1) contribute nothing to the artistic community and 2) know nothing about art other than the cheap prints they get from the dollar store of little hillbilly children with their cracks showing and their pop culture. Mondrian art was part of the Dada movement. It's not supposed to have any deep or special meaning; it's just aesthetically pleasing and fun. Oh, and it's hardly modern at this given point, although it is part of the modernist period. Try bsimple.com for interesting MODERN art, not MODERNIST art. And I still maintain the people who bitched about the Mondrian paintings "just being blocks" are uncultured morons. |
