Best way to avoid a hangover: do your drinking early in the evening so you can sober up before going to sleep. There's no good reason to be drunk after the party's over, anyway.

How about not getting drunk, or not drinking things which make you ill? I suffer terribly- and on wine I don't even have to get drunk- spirits on the other hand I can manage much better. I simply avoid getting drunk- tiddly is as far as I go.. once I get to that stage I slow right down and start drinking lemonade, or fizzy water for a while.

Don't drink too much, that tends to help. When you really go overboard, then few things will really help. Although greasy food does help me, if I can keep it down that is.

B vitamins? Our Biology teacher explained it as alcohol inhibiting ADH production which causes your body to release water it actually needed. This, in turn, results in you becoming dehydrated (Headache, dry mouth, nausea). I started drinking a few glasses of water before going to bed and haven't had a bad hangover, since.
