I'm glad The Fountain made the list. I f'in love that movie, and Hugh Jackman because of it. Well made list. I plan on filling in my blanks.

I've seen 12 of these, all of them were very well made and creative. Not your average formulaic hollywood shlok. City of god and children of men were 2 that really stayed in my mind and layer cake is a brilliant film - makes lock stock look like a carry-on film.

The ones I've seen.
The fountain
Tucker and Dale
Jesse James
Children of men
Ink

All of them were exceptionally wonderful films.
Especially Ink.

"Tucker and Dale v. Evil" is Hilarious.
Can't even describe it justly, it must be seen!

"Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" is some of the BEST acting Robert Downer Jr. has EVER done and it is a fun and intelligent thriller with a fat Val Kilmer playing a surprisingly great supporting role.

It's a good list! No obvious "stinkers" on it, lots of variety, all seem well made.

@Magickrat: I saw "The Man From Earth" too and it was very interesting. However? The first thing I thought of was: is he circumcised? Second was: does he have any tattoos?
lolz!

: I don't think I would enjoy "Tucker and Dale v. Evil"."

That's what I thought before I watched it. Give it a chance.

I have "Sunshine" on DVD & it's a really good film, but "The Man From Earth" is a must-watch. Trust me guys & gals, if you get a chance to see this one, take it. You will not be disappointed. Fantastic story really makes you think. Prepare for days of discussion on this one afterwards...

I've seen three of the films, and they were quite good. I don't think I would enjoy "Tucker and Dale v. Evil".

The movies on that list that I have seen were all quite good. I'll keep an eye out for the rest.

I avoided Tucker and Dale vs Evil for a long time, thinking it was going to be a stupid hillbilly movie but it turned out to be awesomely funny! Sunshine, Machinist and Children of Men were also very good. They should have added "Safety Not Guaranteed".

The Fountain has always been one of my absolute favorites. This song will be played at my funeral.

Good post. 5Cats. I've seen Sunshine, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, City of God, Attack the Block, Ink and The Machinist. I would recommend them.

"City of God" (from Brazil) deserves to be listed among the all-time great crime dramas, up there with anything by Scorsese.
