I am sick to death of hearing women bitch about the "unrealistic expectations media puts on them" in our "male dominant oppressive society".
B U L L S H I T !
Women do this to themselves. Women dress to impress women, not men. They tear each other apart if one of you doesn't look right. If women hate photo shopped images so much why do they keep buying fashion magazines? People? US Weekly? M? Elle? Vogue? Why do you buy into the make up sold by superstar Easy-Breazy-Beautiful CoverGirls!?
You do it to yourselves and then blame the media for your depression fueled haagen dazs binge.

It is difficult- retouching has been around as long as photos (old saggy thighs above me is a reminder) - but the way we can alter so dramatically nowadays means girls compete against something which is not physically attainable. Things is, it is insidious- I know how it works, I also KNOW that physical appearances are not really relevant-health is, I understand the process.... yet I still find myself feeling very unhappy about how I look, wanting that tight figure, smooth skin- even when I know what I am comparing it to is an illusion... and I am old, experienced and aware. Must be hell to be 15....
