Being cold lowers immune system, making you more likely to get sick. Ok already knew that, there is a difference to it giving you a cold. You spend several hours in a walk in freezer you won't catch a cold as there is no cold virus in there.... Still doesn't give you a cold... This one was a bit stupid...
Imagine it like sleeping around. Wearing a condom means you're unlikely to get an STI. But just because you don't wear a condom doesn't mean you'll get an STI

I also read somewhere that the cold virus is opportunistic, and may lay dormant and go into rapid replication mode when the resources of the body are taxed, such as trying to keep warm (in a nutshell).
