Fantastic selection of photos.

The one from the 1903 World Series is interesting. Back then, spectators were allowed to stand in the outfield.

When Jessee Owens got his Gold Medal at the Berlin Olympics, Adolph Hitler was sportsman enough to send him a congratulatory telegram. The President of the US didn't. All the US white athletes got telegrams from Roosevelt though.
