my grandma died when i was 8. but one of the last times i saw her alive was shortly after the house next to my grandparents had a huge fire. the poeple who owned the home were out so no one was hurt, but the fire was bad enough that flames were licking the bricks of my grandparents house and left them all black. my grandma was interviewed by the local news and was given a special recording of her full interview. so we watched it. i remember my grandma looking back at me with the sweetest, most innocent and shy smile i had ever seen because she was a bit embarrassed about being on tv. my grandma gave me and my brother lego sets for every christmas and birthday, i still have every single one in a huge bin under my bed, but the one thing ill never forget about my grandma was the smile she gave me that day we watched her being interviewed on the tv.

Must be nice. My grandparents bought Christmas gifts from the Lillian Vernon catalogue. One year, I got a 25 piece puzzle and another year I got a towel with a ballerina on it. I think it had my name on it. Now kids get XBoxes and iPads and expect it. No wonder they act spoiled. Ugh, I'm old.

My Nana would have done the exact same thing. It was a competition.
No lie- a few years ago when I was on my way to Nana's I asked if she needed/wanted anything before I got there. She said she had been craving a Reese's cup. I bought her a 5 pound Reese's cup.

My Grandfather would have ordered the "reeses" from China at a 80% mark down put the rest of the cash in a savings account at .35% interest only to be touched in 25 years. Then made gma make the tea out of bark. Right bastard him.
