@cajun247, "To get it passed and cause the collapse of private insurance thus paving the way for a single payer system."

Do you realize you are using 2 opposing narratives by saying this? On one hand you are outraged that premiums are going up when Obama said that will never happen, but then you claim it's all part of his plan to destroy private health care.

How is he going to destroy private health care if they are making even more money? I'm not telling you to stop using conflicting "facts" to push your worldview (you wouldn't listen even if I tried), you just might want to be more careful and not use one of them to undermine the other in the same conversation.

@QueenZira: Still equating a "Comedian" with a "Reporter" eh? A joke about news is not the same as facts about news...
Equating a "political CARTOON" with actual "facts" too?

Sad really, but I suppose that's the "best you got"...

Would telling the whole story to the minutia have changed anything?

@lauriloo: Obama never, ever, even ONE TIME~! In 32+ speeches, told the truth. He lied EVERY time, and did so knowingly!

If he'd have said: "I promise that 93 Million Americans will BE FORCED TO CHANGE THEIR INSURANCE COVERAGE AGAINST THEIR WILL!" = people would have jumped for joy? look how ANGRY they are now for a "mere 7.5 million". Just wait for the "Employer's Mandate" to hit the fan!

@normalfreak2: I reiterate what @JadesDitoyr said:

Bush: Was told by both USA AND British intelligence that Saddam had WMDs (and was trying to get more).
Fact: Saddam had already violated the UN Cease-Fire (on the WMD issue specifically, as well as others) and the UN Had given it's approval of force.

That means... Bush lied? Seek a dictionary...

lauriloo: Uhmmm... hmmm. I don't understand how your order came to $11.78, the "9any" promo code works for me here.

I'm genuinely befuddled, perhaps they added a $2 delivery charge? Photoshop? Whatever it is, calling me a liar, for that, is rather unfair.

It's so... otherworldly idiotic that people call out Obamacare opponents as people who want to prevent national health care. It's as though the libs went to the polls and got lobotomized. WTF?

National health care is a wonderful idea. It's way past time for something to be instituted that will help take care of citizens' medical needs.

But, Obamacare blows sack like a Barrow Island cyclone. There should have been an array of test environments to see what models served the public best rather than blasting citizens with an untested program. If it was strictly voluntary, this would not be as big a deal. But, it is mandatory, and that is insane.

Obamacare is not the only chance this country has to adopt national health care. Citizens should demand and should receive better than this. The icing on the cake is his complete disregard for the people who voted for him. They trusted him and he wiped his ass with them. Yet, they still worship. Saps.

He lied about being able to keep a doctor. The estimated amount of people that will not be able to keep their doctor's is ~5%. Of course if your plan is a piece of poo and it doesn't meet minimum standards how could you expect to keep your doctor? Should he have not made it so definitive? Yes.

Again, what exactly was his motivation to "lie"?

To get it passed and cause the collapse of private insurance thus paving the way for a single payer system. That has been his plan all along. He has stated so many times, and even lied about saying it.

To get more people to sign up for plans offered by insurance companies who lobbied for ObamaCare after the public option was scrapped.

Not acting in good faith is not the same as not having all the relevant information. Obama was NOT acting in good faith.

I wish I had the time to sit at home and live off the taxpayers like 5cats does... Rubbing myself to constant thoughts of Obama.

Must be a lovely life... Too bad the tax paying workers have to do without so people like 5cats can suck off the govt. teat and put down others who do as they do.

normalfreak2-"Iraq has weapons of mass destruction".

Which was intel believed, and pushed by: Bill Cllinton, Madeline Albright, Sandy Berger, Sens, Carl levin, Daschle, & Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Bob Graham, Al Gore, Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, etc.

And resolution that authorized the use of Military Force against Iraq had FULL, BIPARTISAN support, carrying 40% of Dems in the House and 58% in the Senate.

Now tell me...how may Republicans voted for this abortion called the ACA?

Here's something. Instead of pulling out false stories of 'what about BBBBush!', why not, I don't know, try to defend Obama's lies as something other than lies? (I know, because it's impossible to rationally do so. Only idiots can even attempt it)

Ugh, I'm stepping out before this thread becomes yet another Bush bashing session. Yes the invasion of Iraq was a terrible decision, but I only meant to bring it up as an analogy.

lauriloo: I have a tip for you. Order you Pizza Hut pizza online and click the "Start Order" button, after you log-in (create an account, if you don't already have one) then click "Enter Code" under "Deals at your Pizza Hut" and then type "9any".

That will allow you to order any pizza for $9 including stuffed crust pizzas.

No need to thank me.

You missed a few words at the beginning of that line, "British Intelligence Reports that". I cannot blame you, most of the media cut those words out. That particular lie was one fabricated by the media.

Going into Iraq was because Hussein had breached the Treaty that he'd signed with the US and the UN and needed to be held accountable. For it.

This lie was fabricated by the President's own words. But, we do have to remember, it was on April 1st 2010 that he made one of his most famous "you keep your insurance plan" speeches, so we really should have seen this coming.

"I've been viewing ObamaCare as Obama's Iraq in essence. Seeing as he recently announced the tech surge."

Yeah, because trying to make sure every citizen has health care is similar to lying your way into a war because the dictator tried to kill your daddy and killing thousands of people in the process. TOTALLY the same thing.

If he had said "the vast majority of you with health plans can keep the one you have. If you have one the doesn't meet minimum standards, you may have to upgrade and that may or may not cost more" what would that have changed (other than give the GOP something else to convert to doomsday hyperbole to try to scare people because facts can't get them what they want)?

Its not like he and his administration fabricated evidence to get us into a war that killed thousands and cost us trillions of dollars. What Obama did is much closer to Pizza Hut telling me "Any pizza for $10" but then stuffed crust costs $2 extra.

Even so it will end just as miserably with its hyper-partisan supporters playing the Dolschtoss card on the next administration. In the end both parties must eventually own up to their disastrous policy making.

Even Jon Stewart called him out on this bull5h17, though in the same segment he called out Fox News for exaggerating its dangers. Seriously though WHY was ending that absurd tax credit not enough? Why did it HAVE to be replaced with a mandate and get tacked along with 50+ other demonstrably stupid or unproven ideas?

@normalfreak

Interesting you should mention it, I've been viewing ObamaCare as Obama's Iraq in essence. Seeing as he recently announced the tech surge.

Obama didn't just say, "You can keep your plan... you can keep your doctor" just once or twice or even three times, He declared that in over a dozen speeches all across America!

That wasn't a misstatement, that wasn't a misinterpretation. That was a bold faced f*cking lie and he knew it was a lie, at the time. His "legacy" is a lie.

He should be impeached, and the democrats that don't back his impeachment, are co-conspirators in this fraud on the American public.
