It's pretty funny they'll go after one media outlet for brainwashing and ignore that it's the Democrats that own the most media outlets......

@papa At the same time seeing that the "crazies" are in fact in power and have congressional seats one can only be fearful of them ACTUALLY gaining more ground in congress. I agree that the extremism on both sides should be flat out belittled and shunned because let's face it extremists will get us into trouble no matter which side is promoting it.

However debating current issues (IE Healthcare for all) This is a non issue. America is behind the rest of the world with this. Is the AFA the best idea? No. Is it a step in the right direction? Absolutely.

I have a family member that couldn't get insurance before (pre existing condition cancer). Her medical bills are ridiculous 400,000 when she makes 30k a year. How in the world is anyone supposed to pay that back? In Canada, she wouldn't owe half or even a quarter of that, she could actually "afford" quality HC in Canada. Our system before AFA was wrong and needed changing. It's not done chan

I agree McGovern. Neither party has it for the Average joe. I define Average American Joe as an individual making between 25-50k a year. I do believe the majority of people in this country are poor to middle class (Middle class anyone making more than 50k a year and less than 200k.) I'm hard pressed to find anyone in Congress that supports that demographic. I'm a more left leaning individual but I do not support the Democratic party out right. I try to pick my poisons within my line of thinking. What I do find is the Republican party is mostly backwards on a lot of issues. The one thing I do agree with is a balanced budget. I don't support their version of one though, I support the idea. Currently Republicans simply want to shift spending away from the poor people and move it towards our military complex and people like the Koch brothers. I want to support a more conservative thinking group but man the Republicans make it easy for someone like me (a moderate/independent) to n

Oh this made my pockets hurt. If this is how the left sees the right then the left clearly has no idea about what a conservative thinks. Seriously, this could not be further off track. It's not brain-washing or being a "sheeple" to gravitate towards people who have similar values. As a conservative, I care not not what what you think but I do care when your actions promote policy that takes away the very freedom to chose any political beliefs you want (see North Korea). I say we, as a people, need to gravitate away from the extremists on both sides because that's where the dramatic misunderstandings on both sides come from, IMHO. I say this because I can see in the comments even on IAB that at times both sides want the same thing but come at it from vastly different angles. But hidden in between the ranting is understanding if you look hard enough.

Mabey it's me but it seems the political parties here have slowly over these past years been only doing one thing good and that dividing the people of this country and that's about it. Perhaps we should look at the real problem cause neither speak for the majority anymore.

@patchouly I'm on the right. I open up to whichever evidence is put infront of me. I tend to find that lefties ignore all economic data and history. I also find attacks ont he right hate the vitriol the things like thatcher is dead parties. Yet Anything even remotely close to that bile that get's put back to the Left is a national outrage. Both sides are as bad as the other, when you start making overarching statements like that you show you're just as tribalistic as the right wing twats

OldOllie and Somtam went with the "she must be crazy" route. Classy response... And of course it's the education that's brainwashing people, "just believe what we say, don't try to acquire skills, please just be dumb and get dumber and watch some more faux news"

You know Fox is a running joke in Europe, the stuff they say and how they say it is just like a joke. The frightening thing is that it seems like the right is already so dumbened that they actually believe what that Onion-wannabe. You can't tell them apart. Idiocrazy.

Funny how I don't see very many FW FW FW FW emails in my inbox from the left, but constantly see them from family members from the right who are willing to forward misinformation and not bother to research it as if it is the gospel truth - or willing to think (like you) that anything that disagrees with you must be a liberal conspiracy.

@ Som-tam: That peculiar interpretation of the documentary would make perfect sense if the mother of the "precious little princess," as you call her, somehow had also gotten her head full of "Marxoid ideas" (again, your words).

You seem to be carrying an awful lot of bile around there, Som-tam. How many hours a day do *you* spend listening to talk radio rants about worthless black people and liberal f*cktards? Just curious.

Daddy's precious little princess spends her entire life in the left wing propaganda machine aka full time education, probably did some sort of media course at college, and when she's spat out the other end with all her mind full of marxoid ideas about 'social justice' she accuses her dad, without the slightest hint of irony, of being 'brainwashed'.
This video would be laughable if there wasn't the sad fact that someones daughter now has a very distorted view of her father: 'he really loveD me' notice the past tense and how she emphasises how good a man he was by his affection to her.

Right-wing hate media? Are you on the crack? Listen to MSNBC or read the left-wing blogs if you want to hear REAL hate.

If this idiot's dad went crazy, it's probably because it runs in the family. Don't blame the media.

"LOL at the idea that the Liberals DON'T brainwash."

It's true. As a liberal Atheist, I am constantly acquiring knowledge, adjusting my opinions and learning. No opinion is fixed (well, maybe that whole silly fairy tale about the sky wizard...) and I am always open to new data. I listen to everything. I ask questions. I formulate an opinion, not based on what one side has said, but by analyzing what both sides have said.

On the other side of the coin, the right wing seems stuck on a fixed point. Their opinions are based on Bible quotes and hate. They grow up feeling superior and their opinions need to match other Conservatives in order to maintain that air of superiority. If they have even one opinion that differs from the rest, they are cast out of the club. Case in point: I can find you a liberal that hates Obama, can you find me a Conservative who doesn't?

I didn't watch the whole thing but what I gathered is that someone whom was very dear to the narrator changed drastically and is no longer personable to her due to his vehement intolerance. I don't give a damn about the politics; the distance caused by over-zealotry of any following can be tragic.

@ Duckboy: You make a really good point.

I've been submitting political posts these past two days only as a response to the NONSTOP BARRAGE of right-wing vitriol from 5Cats.

You might suggest that I just ignore the right-wing political posts. I've been trying to. But by not responding to the propaganda and by continuing to participate on the site, I feel complicit in this crap. Quite honestly, I don't want to be associated with a website that promotes right-wing, divisive, poisonous content on a daily basis.

KEY POINT: Frankly, I just want to come onto an entertainment website to have fun--not to wage battles against one person's obsessions and hatreds, day in and day out.

Not to sound grand, but this is why I'm on the verge of leaving IAB. (And yes, I'm well aware that this revelation will provoke several snarky "See ya!" responses.)

@HolyGod, you mock 5Cats' political posts because they always get a sub-2 rating. At the time of my posting this, this post has a 1.5 rating.

Do you think maybe that it's not 5Cats' political posts that are bad, but ALL political posts? ... just saying.

Both sides are the exact same. It's only difference is the mask they hide behind.

A family that becomes dysfunctional over politics is not the fault of the media, it's the fault of individuals within them. This video isn't going to fix that.
