Deleting low scores from IAB? Again, how would that help? It's still censorship.

A group of "Right Wingers" could keep all leftist stuff off the site, you'd be fine with that?
Or @PMarren could keep all the cat related posts off the site... somehow... he'd find a way!

HOW would that make IAB better? Honest question, and I'm glad you've given good answers already, eh? I just don't "see it" though.

The current system already covers it, I think. If it sux? It doesn't go up! But remember: One person's "sux" is another person's "cool"...

Vote for suggested items? THAT'S a good idea! To put a "thumbs up" beside items you'd like to see go up: I'd like that. No need for a negative vote, for me that would be optional, or by inference...

@auburnjunky: LOLZ! Even I'm not that paranoid... but it might be true...

I think the mods single out 5Cats and only post his political stuff.

They is trolling him.

I know you cannot see my suggestions in the Live Subs (The Mods can though!) but since 9/20:

Science Alert: Booze (funny?)
Sasquatch Sightings (very interesting!)
New Report (AGW)
Pittsburgh Penis Panic!
7 Year Old Suspended For Pen
Swiss Climate (AGW)
Cockney Star Trek (very funny!)
Cougar Meows (cute!)
The "Ratte" Tank (history!)
And the White Lion was also in there

It's not my fault! So quit blaming me! And I've NOT suggested TONS of things because I know they'd just cause a fuss... it's true!

"There's no Earthly purpose in forbidding the SUGGESTION of content. It is, however, a form of censorship."

Fair enough. Then make the system that the mods don't post stuff from a user if their average rating the previous week was below 2.5. Then the post would still be in live submissions.

Or how bout this?

Every item submitted goes to the live submissions at a 0 rating. If it gets voted up to 2.5 or higher it hits the front page, if it dips blow 2 it goes back to live submissions. Let the USERS decide what content makes up the front page of the site.

"If @FancyLad (himself) asked me to stop suggesting politics? I would."

I've already addressed this. He doesn't like your political stuff, none of the mods do. However they know it drives up page views because of the debates that follow. I get that. It is business.

I'd like a direct answer to my direct question:

Do you really feel that:

House Passes Bill 407 - 0 To give backpay furloughed workers...

Of course it now joins the OTHER 6 funding bills STUCK in the Senate by Democrats...

@HolyGod: Again: How would "limiting the number of SUGGESTIONS" make IAB better? @The_Mods can delete the craptacular ones already! They DO So on a regular basis!

Haven't you seen those "advertising" suggestions in the Submissions?? Put there by bots or something...

There's no Earthly purpose in forbidding the SUGGESTION of content. It is, however, a form of censorship.

If @The_Mods stopped posting my stuff? I'd still suggest it, but you'd have to find it in the Live Subs, not on the Font Page.

I enjoy it sometimes. When my girlfriend wants "violent" sexy time I watch Hannity for 10 minutes beforehand, no joke.

I liked this site when everything on here was something I wouldn't have been able to find myself. If I want left-wing or right-wing political propaganda I know where to look. It is EVERYWHERE. Why does it have to be here too?

Honestly I don't really like it when headline news gets posted here either unless it is for the discussion. If something is on the front page of a site like msn.com it doesn't need to be here too in my opinion.

"And HOW would you do that? By paying for the posts? YOU cannot post anything on IAB @HolyGod! And neither can I!"

You know exactly what I mean. If I was submitting them and the mods were approving them.

"What practical purpose would "limiting submissions" serve? Can you answer that?"

It would keep people from submitting too much content the patrons of the site don't enjoy as a whole. Notice I said "too much". That is an important distinction. I only suggested an average of 2.5 or higher. That means you could submit a few things here and there that were low rated as long as you submitted a majority of posts that were rated above 2.5.

If I posted a my little pony cartoon on here every day...

And HOW would you do that? By paying for the posts? YOU cannot post anything on IAB @HolyGod! And neither can I!

You can SUGGEST My Little Pony until you're blue in the face like a Smurf! Feel free!

"Limiting Submissions" = euphemism for banning, NEXT!

What practical purpose would "limiting submissions" serve? Can you answer that?

If ONLY the popular majority were allowed to submit suggestions? HOW would that make IAB better?

IN MY OPINION it would kill IAB dead. It's the VARIETY of posts that's the BEST PART of IAB! Seeing stuff we wouldn't normally come across is INTERESTING. At least I think so.
Don't you?

"I note that @HolyGod has side-stepped the whole "ban suggestions" question...

I honestly do not see the difference between "banning 5Cats because he's unpopular" and "banning unpopular people, like 5Cats" eh? By "banning" I mean not allowed to make submissions."

How the holy f.uck did I side step it? I have never once suggested you be banned. I have never once suggested you be banned from submitting. What I suggested is some sort of system that limits the amount people can submit if their submissions aren't enjoyed.

""But IAB is not a popularity contest! It's not "majority rules" eh?"

It should be. Contnet on here should be content the group enjoys, just as content on TV is content people enjoy by way of how many people watch it. If it isn't enjoyed it gets cancelled.

If I posted a my little pony cartoon on here every day and every day it got voted to 1.5 or 1.6 in your mind that is OK because "some" people like it?

I want people to post things they think people will enjoy. You don't do that. You post things YOU like and you don't give a s.hit if everyone else does. You even admit you don't care. That is PARTICULARLY obvious when you post weird anime stuff when you know full well people on here aren't into that.

It is like a DJ at a rock station playing country music and saying "some people like country, this station is full of rock listeners, who cares whether they like country or not".

"You really seem to have lost it. Current national debt is ~16 Trillion. The GDP of the US in 2012 was roughly 2012. Go right ahead and make the argument that debt does not matter. By the way the debt to GDP for the US is ~101% the UK ~90, France ~90, Germany ~81."

Well then the debt clock mcgovern posted is WAY off.

It has External debt percentage of GDP for
USA: 99%
UK: 472%
Germany: 206%
France: 260%
Spain: 237%

There ALREADY is a system at IAB! Funny how the IAB Liberal Brigade DEFENDS Obama's use of the system but ATTACKS me for doing the same!
Funny!
By that I mean: hypocritical.

@Musuko42: No worries! Typos happen.

But IAB is not a popularity contest! It's not "majority rules" eh? The trolls will troll no matter WHAT content is put up.

Some folks like to read about "timely topics" like the "Shutdown" or wars or the Olympics or OWS or famous people & etc. Others? Not so much.

@McGovern: Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have potty-mouths too! Calling people "terrorists" for going to a public park

HOW THE F.UCK COULD YOU POSSIBLY PRETEND YOU KNOW THAT? HOW?

@HolyGod: (and @Musuko42, and anyone else who cares) It would take a LOT longer than 1,000 chars to explain. E-mail me if you honestly want to know. Also the whole "a certain Mod would delete ALL my suggestions" story which happened before you joined...

Just make up a brand-new Hotmail account! It's not like I'll stalk you or something, ask @Squrlz4.

For me? It's a fact. I don't HAVE TO prove it to anyone. Ok?

So do I get an exemption from your claim that liberals hit 1 without thinking?

@Musuko42: NO! You must rate my posts 4.0!!! :grr:
LOLZ! Sure, you know it doesn't apply to you? That's OK! That doesn't mean others don't do it, eh?

It's not a defense mechanism if it's really true...

@5Cats

Sorry, genuine mistake of mine: the "most" was a mistake. Mea culpa.

And sure, people do enjoy the political posts. I clearly wouldn't keep debating on them if I didn't want to.

But if more people are annoyed than the number of people who are enjoying them, then you've really got to recognise that. You shouldn't ignore it.

Now back to the original subject. You don't think Obama could have these things opened and one of these parties or hell even both refuse their pay because they're not doing their friggen job??? Don't you think you know that'd be taking the high road?

Oh hey along with the tax thing how about we cut all foreign "aid" money to the countries that want to kill us all! Once they see a hit from it mabey they'll start kissing our asses for once!

So you shouldn't be saying that <MOST> people here like your posts.

@Musuko42: You've left out a critical word, by mistake? MOST people? I've NEVER claimed that! Some DO LIKE the political stuff, that's a fact! Just not MOST of the IABers. The IAB Liberal Brigade can go post their own far-left suggestions, no skin off my teeth. No "rule" that says I PERSONALLY have to "balance" my offerings! Eh?

Just like cat videos, or pictures of @FancyLad's breakfast: some like them, others do not.

You cannot please everyone!

And "my audience" = ME! Why should I care if trolls like @normalfreak2 dislike my suggestions? He hates! It's what he does!

@HolyGod: Is that based on the "double counting" of so-called "600 Billion in Medicare savings" which were thoroughly falsified two years ago? You know, since the last ACTUAL BUDGET was passed? Smoke & mirrors.

I think it's a defence mechanism. Self-delusion. If they didn't like it, it's because they didn't read it/didn't understand it/have a vendetta against him/it's a conspiracy.

Anything to avoid facing the thought that his content wasn't enjoyed for its own merits, or lack of.

>>>>You do know the debt is really just a boogie man issue to scare people right? What is going to happen? The country is going to get repoed?

Our debt is lower than most developed nations as a percentage of GDP. It doesn't really matter except when you want to rile up people like McGovern. <<<<

By your logic then who the heck cares if we pay it off. Or conversely why in the world would we need to tax, just borrow.

You really seem to have lost it. Current national debt is ~16 Trillion. The GDP of the US in 2012 was roughly 2012. Go right ahead and make the argument that debt does not matter. By the way the debt to GDP for the US is ~101% the UK ~90, France ~90, Germany ~81.
