Sorry. I'm with Stuart on this one. We really don't need the majority of government workers. They're a drain on most Americans and do very little to contribute to the GDP.

The USA is not a business. Nor is it a household that needs to live within someones perceived means. We are an economic engine that is quite efficient. There are some 2,000,000 government workers in total. With a national population of 350,000,000 that's a federal workforce of less than one percent. Parroting FoxNews talking points without attempting to understand their meaning leaves the parroter sounding as smart as a bird.

Misleading header = Fail.

The whole point is there are way too many federal employees who contribute next to nothing so when they aren't working nobody notices.

A truly free market is capable of doing a better job than the government. A truly free market where giant inefficient multinationals are unable to lobby for special privileges for their corporations' Where the local and smaller businesses are better able to cater to the whim of local and diverse markets.

I feel so sorry for the people that work a ton of hours providing security, food, cleaning everything. Why doesn't anyone think of the people that support their way of life?

When business slows down and private-sector workers get laid off (not their fault, either), they don't get back pay when they're called back. Why should government workers get paid for not working? I say f*** 'em.

British accent indicates he left his own country to avoid the higher taxes there. So I am justified in saying... You don't like it here GO HOME!

Well, I do agree that we don't need an army or a police force.

The "millionaire" sounds very much like a trained performer. His intonation is like someone who has rehearsed those lines and is trying to make them sound more "natural". I'm smelling the sweet sweet fake here.

I'm all for Fox bashing because 90% of the time they deserve it. At least this guy is honest. I think he's wrong but he's entitled to his opinion.

hes very brash and to the point
and while i do disagree with just about everything that comes out of his mouth (or any of the mouths attached to the mannequins at fox news) there is nothing really factually wrong with what he said or any views he has based on incorrect 'facts'
aside from maybe that its obama's shutdown but compared to the typical sludge coming from fox news that might as well be a drop of honey in a barrel of nuclear waste.

really the most offensive thing he said IMO was when he said government workers make more than "most of US in the private sector"
as if he wasnt so far and above most of us that he would rather piss on us then look at us

He might be rather brash, but he's right. If 700,000 people don't go to work, and the economy just kind of shrugs it off, then their jobs probably aren't all that useful.

It amazes me because people actually know better, but they try to convince themselves otherwise.

If a large company makes very bad choices, over-hires, spends more than they bring in, accumulates massive debts, and writes checks they can't cash, we all (mostly) agree that they should close down. Yes, people lose jobs for awhile and that sucks, but we all understand that it's a necessary part of the system.

If the government does the same exact stupid crap though, we freak out about people losing their jobs. How intellectually dishonest can you be?

Sorry but government workers are not "the average American worker", they get benefits and back pay that "the average American worker" doesn't get when they are laid off. They also makeup the largest unions in the country right now, the SEIU and the AFSCME. Both those unions shilled for Obama and did his dirty work for him during both elections, and many did so while they should've been at work working.

Sorry, the SEIU and the AFSCME are NOT "the average American worker", not by a long shot.
