Yea, I grew up in Baltimore schools, and their behavior is not out of the norm. If you disagree with them is the slightest way, they see you as a "provoker" and do this.

Jeez guys that is scary stuff. I keep seeing more and more of this sort of thing being posted from across the pond. I know this site loves arguments between left and right political bias but wherever you are standing, that is not the right solution to anything. I don't think the people who are imposing this sort of "rhetoric" can be called politicians at all, they are people who don't care about their country and the people in it. If you have a political stand point (either left or right), it's usually because you do care about the society you live in and don't want to actually impose this sort of law onto your fellow citizens.
This smacks of good old fashioned greed and corruption regardless of politics.

C_Frost-"complain that other people aren't doing a good enough job."

No, he was complaining that they were actively doing a bad job. There's a difference.

Say you take your car to have the oil changed:

The technician does not change the filter, and just tops off your oil level and charges you $39.95 (plus tax). That is 'aren't doing a good enough job'.

Okay, no say the does not change the filter, and just tops off your oil level and charges you $39.95 (plus tax), makes a copyy of your house key, notes your home address and straps a bomb to the undercarriage of your car set to go off when you hit 50mph.

THAT's what the guy was complaining about.

Home school your children- if they're well educated, you can take some credit for that; If ya f*ck them up, you can lie and say they have a public school education.

he wants his kids to have a better education but is not willing to do anything about it besides complain that other people aren't doing a good enough job. all this was just a publicity stunt for a sad little man that wants to be famous and is willing to use his kids to get it

Don't dare question the political elite, they know what's best for you, just sit there and eat the crap they're dishing out to you and your kids.

danagamer-"what law did he break?"

He questioned their authority. How DARE he question their ability to indoctrinate....er..'educate' their children. This guy was obviously under the impression that his children belong to him, and not the state.

Just ask MSNBC: "we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families ." Melissa Harris-Perry, April 2013.

Rick_S-"He wasn't arrested, he was escorted out under threat of arrest."

You would be incorrect.

apparently being a father concerned with your kids' futures is wrong, as opposed to the myriad other, sometimes horrific, reasons often highlighted on this site.

but i personally know a guy whose parental rights were stripped from him because he works two jobs, smokes, and lives with his longtime female friend without benefit of marriage.

this is no longer America.

Public meetings are a hold over from days gone by that they have to do. Keep in mind they don't want to hear from you and they are not going to do anything different than what they already planned. It's just a formality that they have to pretend to listen to the community they laughingly work for.

Rick: The accompanying article states he was arrested for "assault on a police officer"

Bear in mind the word "assault" does NOT mean you actually hit a person, if you make a gesture as if you are going to hit someone, it is assault whether you actually do anything or not. So, the "assault" was probably when he pulled his arm away after the off-duty police officer grabbed it.

This is pretty drated up right here. They were not going to answer his question or address his points. They said "your question will be answered" but never actually answered it.

Yep. Sounds about right. When you can't handle the audience you find a new one.
