Figures an idiot like Ollie comes up on the side of the dude committing an ambush.

Sorry, but if Florida legally supports "Stand your Ground" to include "Lying in Wait", then civilization might as well end now.

I seriously doubt that you even know what it means.

Can't complain, America, you want to play cowboys, this is what you get.

Fine. Next time you invite us over to play cowboys and Nazis, we'll just stay home.

"He's been looking at my wife kinda funny..."

Sounds like the law here, at least by my read of the article, can be applied kind of loosely. Maybe opens the door for abuse.
Maybe it's the kind of law that deserves some "tightening up" with regard to what constitutes and what, perhaps more importantly, does not constitute "Hold Your Ground".

It does not look like he was in actual 'imminent danger", but I was not there and have to assume his innocence.

This is, however, a completely different set of circumstances than the Zimmerman Trial, and I hope that people don't try to use this as an attempt to emotionally invalidate the "Not Guilty" vote that Zimmerman received.

Also, Bush Doctrine. Ha! The lawyers are trying to sensationalize the story!

So, the trio of men yelled at him and said they were "going to get" him. They probably shook their fists at him, too. So he claims that he stood his ground, by golly. I'm guessing it he'll be standing it in prison, too.

Well, that's pretty much a green light for murdering anyone.. "he might try to kill me in the future". It's like redneck version of Minority Report. About the most stupid law ever passed.

No, no it's not. Here's how laws work people can claim a law in court as a defence all they want but the courts decide if that law applies to this or not.

That article link is busted. A login request comes up and when you close it redirects you to the homepage. Super annoying.

Hiding in bushes and ambushing them isn't standing your ground...sound familiar?
