@Musuko42 LMAO!!!! I'm sweary every minute of the day. As far as being angry, naw, a bit irritated that you keep trolling for arguments and playing the poor me card. How a total stranger such as yourself can assume they know the goings-on and how things go down in the lives of total strangers just shows what a total arrogant know it all douche you are. I wouldn't like you if you were straight or gay!!!! It has to do with PERSONALITY, not sexual orientation. A whiny S*it bag is a whiny s*it bag!!!

I'm sensitive...but you're the one getting angry and sweary.

I suspect I got close to the truth and struck a nerve.

Musuko42 Did I say this was just in private? I don't have any problem saying the things I say to him in public because they are not said in a mean way and how dare YOU infer otherwise! Geezus but you are sensitive!!! Get the f**k over it. Not everyone is trying to offend you. Don't you GET that? I'm not being deliberately anything....

Musuko42 - don't forget that YOU are the minority. It doesn't make everyone else better...but it obviously means that the majority won't bend over backwards when you PRETEND to be offended. Take the fair and courteous treatment, and like it. Stop playing the victim, you hurt your own cause.

Musuko42 - there is no winning with a nit-picky bitchy puss like you. I try to be "PC" by not saying the actual words (even though everyone knows what those words are) and you Still complain. For the record, I have no problem with saying that you are acting like a fag.

Keep playing the victim and see how far that gets you in life.

"I guess all this time we have been offending each other huh?"

What you say in private conversations with a friend is very different to what you say in public in front of strangers.

You know your friend is happy to hear you talk like that. You don't know if strangers are.

You *know* this. You're being deliberately obtuse.

@Musuko42 I have several gay friends. My dearest and closest - I call him "my gay", he calls me his "straight". His partner refers to him as his "roomie". I guess all this time we have been offending each other huh? I'm sure you are only conveying what you have experienced yourself, but not all people use words as weapons.

Oooh! "Straight Drag Shows"! We should totally have those now! That's a realm where the dirty heteros get harassed by their homosexual peers.

"Oh, honey, there's no way you're straight. Get out of the closet!"

"Mmmmmmhhhhmmmm, just lying to yourself. No wonder you're unhappy."

Seen it a million times.

Reporter: "...and your name, sir?"
Dude: "Dick Brown. I'm here with Mickey Twinks and Phil McCracken. Over there Pat... and Pat's friend Shawn... Anywho, behind them is Peter Beets and his friend, Hank Dipworthy."
Reporter: "Riiiiiiiight..."
Dick: "So, what's YOUR name, again?"
Reporter: "Chance B. Dunwell."
Dick: "B?"
Report: "Bear... My friends call me 'Chaps...'"
Dick and crew: "Mm-Hm."

"I do care that if I started a straight rodeo and called it that, even if all the proceeds also went to charity, I'd be branded a horrible discriminating person."

If straight people were regularly hassled by a homosexual majority, and needed a place to go to where they'd be able to have a break from that stress, then you'd have a good reason to set up such a rodeo.

But if you still wanted to do it, as long as you allowed gay people to join and take part, you wouldn't be breaking any laws, and anyone who gave you sh*t for it would be just as bad as those giving the gay rodeos sh*t right now.

But you don't actually even want to do anything like it...you're just bitter about someone else getting to do it. It's the worst kind of jealousy when you don't even want it for yourself.

Raining on someone else's parade, basically.

I don't give a crap if you are gay or not. I do care that if I started a straight rodeo and called it that, even if all the proceeds also went to charity, I'd be branded a horrible discriminating person.

"Chances are they didn't know this months PC terminology."

I'm sorry, PC? Calling my partner my "friend", after I have referred to him as my partner about five times in the course of the conversation (discussing who is at home during the day, etc), is not anything to do with political correctness terminology, and everything to do with something more ignorant or sinister.

"I don't have a clue what is acceptable in the UK and I'm not being flippant."

Black/gay/etc is generally acceptable as a descriptor. Using those words as a noun (the blacks, the gays, etc) sounds very crass and rude and very old-fashioned. It's something my grandmother would say.

@turdburglar

Go ahead and just give it all up and say n*gger and f*ggot and bleat innocently "but I don't *intend* to be offensive!" See how far it gets you in life.

"I almost love how your generation tries so hard to feel offended."

I'm 28. Unless you're at the extreme upper end of your stated age range, we're of the same generation. So if so...well done for insulting yourself.

@ Musuko42, in fairness to your insurance caller, it may be the first time they have spoken to a gay couple on the phone. Chances are they didn't know this months PC terminology.
I'm not trying to divert here but it's the same as african-americans. At one time it was negro, then coloureds became ok, then you had to say black and now that is offensive. I don't have a clue what is acceptable in the UK and I'm not being flippant. I get called whitey, snow is white but I don,t get all upset about it.

Gerry - I kinda thought so. A shaved chest is kinda like the hetro equivalent of pony tails, braces and catholic school girl skirt.

It may be cute, but it's not a grown up kind of sexy.

Musuko42 - You sir, have taken nit-pickery to a new level. I almost love how your generation tries so hard to feel offended.

If someone says gays instead of "gay men and gay women" with no intent to offend...and you still try to be offended...maybe YOU are the one being a jerk. Being part of a minority means you can't expect everyone else to know the tiny, insignificant things you decided to feel offended by.

Maybe you should look at like this: They could have said words like Queer, Fag or turdburglar.

Maybe focus on the bright side, instead of the brown side.

"Musuko42 - Look on the bright side. If being called gay (as opposed to gay man) is your big issue, I'd have to say things are going pretty good."

They are. Which is why I do protest the little things like that.

What, you're not allowed to complain about something that bothers you if it's anything short of being beaten in a gulag?

Unless you call blind people "blinds", tall people "talls", short people "shorts", and fat people "fats", don't call people blacks, whites or gays.

@drawman61

And the above to you as well.

@ turd - I think not, but these darn metrosexuals shave everything nowadays. Legs, armspits, crotches, chests.

@ Musuko42, that just about sums douche-baggery up to Grandmaster level. That makes no sense whatsoever. Turdburglar says you are nit-picking but I think that's an insult to nit-pickers.
