"It's got a few different cansiffs (?) behind it." Huh? I think this poor guy is, uh, slow.

@Ilikelogic ...oh god *cringe* now I just feel bad for him. He really believe that's going to work? Oh man, all the hours he must've put into that and no one had the nerve to tell him to stop. Oh man... dude... wow... *cringe*

I want to remain optimistic that maybe there is something useful to this but I can't. Either he's not showing some of the parts or he doesn't get how bicycles or transmissions work.

Angilion: Using multiple gears is more inefficient but you can't fit a gear large enough to provide those ratios. The "big wheel" is going to be larger than the rear wheel.

If i got it right, he has to peddle like 3000 revs per minute to get anywhere. He could probably tow a semi but very very slowly.

Either I am completely mistaken in my understanding of gearing or this is worse than standard bicycle gearing in every way - less efficient, more likely to break, less safe.

Gears aren't magic force multipliers, so using cogs in sequence is just less efficient than using just 2 cogs with a bigger ratio, right?

This is stupid. Gears simply redirect the work. Either more work for faster rotation with less power or less work for slower rotation and more power. Adding more gears will just make it harder to pedal.

He sounds like the love child of Christopher Walken and Bobcat Goldthwait.

Hope this guy's day-job isn't "motivational speaker."
