"...supernova and in 1996 will catastrophically collapse..."
It did. It was over-subscribed. The POP's were expanded, largely by AOL, only to have dialup go out of style less than 6 years later.

If you're going to bring up another one, I like how Blockbuster laughed Netflix out of the meeting only to become BLOAQ less than 10 years later.

Yeah, the Einstein one wasn't really incorrect because AT THAT TIME there were no indications of nuclear power for human use. Hard to call SOME of these people dumb for not having precognitive powers at their disposal. ... And it's easy to make fun of someone who didn't have the vision to find uses for these inventions, well after the fact.
I mean, there were probably people who made fun of the person who invented the wheel, for crying out loud.

My favorite:

"You would make a ship sail against the winds and currents by lighting a bonfire under her deck? Excuse me, I have no time to listen to such nonsense."

Wasn't there a general who scoffed at the Jeep as having no conceivable use in the military?
And back in 1895, Lord Kelvin pronounced that heavier-than-air flying machines were impossible.

The only one that has stood the test of time over the ages and across civilizations is "we will never conquer death". Whoever said that will probably be right forever.
