@5Cats
You never fail to live down to expectations, do you? First off, the word is *BEREFT*, not BERIFT (As in, 5Cats is bereft of critical thinking skills.) Second, no one is making the claim that these issues are "Right Wing MEDIA'S fault" or that "Obama made things better" or "Liberal Media would 'fix this'" or any of the other stupid poo you raved on about. (Are you really that brainwashed?) Third, the point of this article (yes, there was only one despite all your "debunking") is this: If our media is so liberal, why are we liberals so frustrated with it? As the article clearly says, "I'd like to go on record and state that the MEDIA ISN'T FOCUSING ON ISSUES I CARE ABOUT. They seem to be far more focused on entertainment and making money." The article is simply a list of 15 things that TRUE LIBERALS care very much about, and that a TRULY LIBERAL media would be trumpeting loudly every day.

You can always trust 5Cats to completely miss the point and defend his conservative agenda. It don't matter that the two parties are essentially doing the same thing: giving corporations freedom from all repercussions. For him there is no limit of stupidity.

one or two might read it all in order to nitpick and debunk the finer details of minutia.

"details of minutia"?
@chalket: Being 100% WRONG in 8 of 15 "points" is NOT MINUTIA! It's EPIC FAIL ok?
Sorry to yell, but you seem to be "hard of thinking" eh?
Or blinded by liberalism...

Honestly man: Bee Hives? The bee collapse is the "Right Wing MEDIA'S" fault? Is it really? And if there were more liberals the bees would be just fine? Really?

Jesus Tapdancing Christ... honestly!

I submitted this because I thought it would probably spark some interesting discussion and a few really stupid posts. (Check!) I figured most would summarily dismiss it with barely a glance, a few would take it personally and lash out, and one or two might read it all in order to nitpick and debunk the finer details of minutia. And I expected one particular individual to completely miss the point and go off on a multi-post tirade to prove how blindly conservative he is. I was not disappointed!

The media is OBVIOUSLY biased. Some liberal, and some conservative. I live in a blue state, and I can say without a doubt that the local news has a liberal bias. Just because their bias fits my agenda the slight majority of the time does not make it right. A true news outlet should not have a bias...it should simply show news, and not be selective about what news, and how it is presented.

I fully appreciate the first amendment and our rights to free press. I do have a feeling that our press is corrupted by political and "special" interests.

Does this idiot f***tard seriously think that 1) I've never heard this bull$#!+ before, and 2) if I heard it every night on ABC, CBS, or NBC I'd actually believe it?

@bophus: You be trippin boy?
The "Trayvon Marin" case was RESOLVED for WEEKS before "national attention" made it a "news item".
It was NOT a "slow news day" For Goodness Sake! It was an organized lynch-mob of... LIBERALISM!

@RdDan: Did you even GLANCE at the post? it's DAILY KOS and NOT FOX NEWS! Jesus!

Interesting Observation:
Those opposed to this crap POST LINKS to back their arguments up.
Those who support it? No Links...
No 'facts' either. Not-a-one.

#1 ends at 2009? So...Obama made things better, right?

@Gerry

Versus one legislature putting out pork at a rate that wouldn't make a difference or worse. The 16th and 17th amendments need to be repealed.

"Seriously? It's already too easy pass laws. It needs to be harder."

The Congress proposes new laws...adds pork..then passes them. The Senate rewrites them into something unintended then adds more pork and back to the Congress for more pork.... We don't need the Senate. It slows the process down and nothing gets done.

Whites accounted for 69.2% of arrests.....
Arrests don't equal prison. The two don't correlate every time.

Then get rid of the Senate...it's redundant and useless.

Easy way to illuminate gerrymandering - get rid of districts. X number of congressmen based on state population and who cares where in the state they live.

Then get rid of the Senate...it's redundant and useless.

I am in Corrine Brown's district. She represents the black sections of Jacksonville, Gainesville, and Orlando. Look at a map to realize how ridiculous that is.

While we're on the subject of gerrymandering, take a look at Corrine, the buffoon, Brown's district in N. Florida. Jacksonville and south. In some places it's less than 3 blocks wide to build her constituency.

richanddead: look closely at your second map. Back in the dark ages, 1960's, I learned in public school that Winston-Salem and Charlotte are in North Carolina. One of our nations biggest liberal states. Too many old hippies have come there to die.

Here is a redistricting simulator, not sure how good it is. But it should show that how the districts are laid out has more to do with an election than the number of voters.

Plus gerrymandering can also take place by enacted laws that govern redistricting like when you have federally mandated "minority-majority" districts to give minority voters a larger voice.

For example, the African-American vote has been historically for the democrats since 1944. But they have multiples of these districts, the most of any minority. This almost always gives democrats a free district but also lumps more Republican together into a single vote. And this is in over 45 different states from California to New York to Georgia to Alabama. And thats just for African Americans, there are districts for Asians, Pacific Islanders, and Hispanics too.

And yes, Colony Collapse Syndrome is a vast right wing conspiracy.

Perhaps a popular vote within the state and awarding reps proportionally.

That's what I was thinking, perhaps more along the lines of how Louisiana conducts their primaries.

To be frank, the whole district method of electing officials would be impossible to not abuse. And, like I said earlier, even if they were perfect squares they would still work against populations that are more dense.

Point is - a new way would be better. Perhaps a popular vote within the state and awarding reps proportionally.

I don't know why this article thinks that honeybees are a liberal issue, but they are dying all around the world and no one knows why. They are calling it Colony Collapse Disorder. Most studies are pointing to several factors including a pesticide called imidacloprid, an increase in the number of Varroa mites, Israeli acute paralysis virus, and Nosema fungus.

This is from my state, Maryland, a District designed by Democrats.

And this is from South Carolina a state controlled and designed by Republicans.
