Saturday, March 05, 2005 1:56:00 PM This was not made to solve jigsaw puzzles. "The GlyphSaw Puzzle... helps demonstrate the concept of address carpets. It provides an opportunity for us to get additional experience with camera based decodes... Some of the software... is applicable to commercially important domains such as test and measurement, calibration, and parts marking. " |

Friday, March 04, 2005 4:34:55 PM arkanoid: i'd have to disagree with your last comment. i see "getting hints" at jigsaw puzzles a very close parallel to "cheating". however, it's great that our technology has advanced so much. |

Friday, March 04, 2005 1:55:10 PM "Doesn't this defeat the whole purpose?" No, it doesn't. Its not like you are telling it to solve the whole puzzle. "I think what's worrying is that someone went to the trouble of designing and making this when the whole point of a puzzle is to be puzzled." I disagree. The point is to try to solve it. When you can't solve a puzzle you want a hint right? Well, you can't do that with a real puzzle. So how are you going to get a hint? |
