The dude was just running along side the biker. I'm not certain why he would "deserve" to get tripped.

Why would showing support for your favorite riders/team and/or trying to get a photo op with one of them be a *trippable* offense?

Seems to me the guy in the blue shirt is guilty of an unprovoked assault.

These idiots only run along with the riders to get attention, not to encourage them or any other reason. As soon as they stop, they'll call their friends at home to ask if they were on tv. If they weren't, they'll try again. If they were...They'll try again! They're attention whoring morons who deserve whatever they get. This guy got exactly the attention he deserved. The only thing that would've made this more perfect is when he confronted him, the 'tripper' had knocked him right back on his ass again.

He richly got what he richly deserved!
Actually, he deserved arrest for his stupid 'stunt'. I hope the cop who came over did just that.

Anyone have a 'follow-up' to the story?

Dumbass got what he deserved. He did no worse than the police at this years tour. For those that don't watch the police would ride up along the spectators like this guy and either push them off the road with their motorcycle or physically push them.

Some of these 'fans' take it way to far. It's all good to cheer on a rider but have some bit of respect. All it takes is one mess up and half a group is going down.

oh and keep your dogs on a drating leash if you're going to watch the tour.

The way I see it, the tripper was just policing his own.

When I was in France, one of the things I loved was that you could get right up close to a race, whether it was a rally race or a race like Tour De France. I can't say that I've ever witnessed anything as intimate here in the states. There are usually police barricades everywhere.

The tripper is doing his part to ensure their events over there don't turn into the American style events.

Another thing I enjoyed was going to professional Rugby matches and getting to stand on the sidelines just because we were American. Do you really think the security at a professional football game in America would let someone stand on the sidelines just to show hospitality? Hell no!

In America, when a jackhole runs out onto a baseball field, instead of our fans putting them in check, we encourage it by laughing and applauding. It's two completely different cultures when it comes to sports.

That was incredibly uncool of the tripper. He was just being mean.

There are stewards to deal with that. From a spectator that is assault.

'....the fat b1tch getting involved.'

OK, that's what this meant to you.

The tripper went too far. The runner was just having some harmless fun, but the tripper was having harmful fun.

Notice the fat b1tch getting involved. If anyone hit her back there'd be an outcry.

And yes he did deserve it, he wouldn't be allowed that close in a velodrome.
