That look on his face when he realizes that he should have never picked up that shovel...the hole is getting too deep to climb out of...
Thank goodness for term limits.

Now, let's address why that cop wannabee Zimmerman was armed and roaming the streets like a rabid pitbull.

What a joke.
Obama has more in common with George Zimmerman than he has with Martin. Both Obama and Zimmerman had 1 white parent and 1 parent from outside the US. And with Zimmerman's grandfather being black that makes Obama and Zimmerman more of a match ethnically than Obama and Martin.

How is this decisive? He's speaking up on an issue that seriously needs to be talked about. I see it as courageous to speak up as a president supporting a side of civil rights that people don't want to acknowledge. He's not saying race has anything to do with what happened at the trial. He's saying this is what people believe as a result of their lives being affected by racism. He's also saying he's creating a plan to actually do something about racial tensions. He seems more serious and professional than he ever was before to me, he clearly isn't trying to placate anymore.
Of course, anyone who already hates Obama is going to hear what they want to hear and they'd only be happy if he just didn't talk.

Supreme court and congress do this all the time. Spam the media with civil rights, race, war and then pull the rug out to benefit corrupt corporate agendas. Omg gets me so mad. Bar lobbyists and special interest (except unions)!

Did you hear, while all this was going down the supreme court rules drug companies exempt from lawsuits.

Link to a place that may not be reliable.

Hmmm, say things to stoke the racial tensions even higher than they are...that would be division in my book.

In doing such things it would and should be considered unprofessional. So how can @McGovern's description be considered bigotry?

I see no outrage in these forums against the idiots that decided to riot and assault people they don't even know while at the same time going to the bigot and racist card for anyone who supports the decision made by the GZ jury.

Pretty pathetic Charles Barkley is more sensible than the Pres.

I believe the sub-title of the post earned you your insults, McGovern. You come across as a chest-thumping bigot.

Now I'm a bigot yet you can't point to a single thing in the sub title that fits bigotry. That right there is the problem with what's going on.

Race WAS involed. Do you actually think that instead of a black kid named Trayvon it was a white kid named Tyler that Zimmerman would have murdered....I mean legally shot him?

Yes. And it wouldn't have made the news other than locally.

Compare that to a black woman who was being attacked by her boyfriend. She fired a warning shot and now she's serving 20 years.
Race plays a HUGE role in these cases.

Are you referring to the oft-cited case in which a woman illegally entered the house of a man who had a restraining order against her and fired at adult chest height towards him and two children (whose heads were, unsurprisingly, at about adult chest height)?

I ask because that incident was described in the same way and many people have repeated the false decsription without any knowledge.

maggierose78, just because Obama had a more privileged upbringing doesn't mean that he didn't suffer discrimination because of his skin color. That you believe that he didn't, or that he couldn't have, is part of the fundamental problem we have in trying to fix the issue. Denying it exists doesn't fix it. Harping on it doesn't fix it, either, I agree, but we have to admit that it's there in order to address it.

You've just argued that a person is wholly defined by the colour of their skin. maggierose78 was talking about the entirety of a person's experiences and circumstances, the entirety of what constitutes a person's life. Your reply rests on the assumption that *you* made that skin colour is what constitutes a person's life. Skin colour and nothing else.

You probably did that so unthinkingly that you're not even aware you did it.

That's a very big part of the fundamental problem.

And all the lemming can do is throw insults at me. You know it's wrong you just can't admit it. All he's doing now is stoking the flames which can cause a riot. The court made its decision as the President he of all people should know to respect that this is very unprofessional.

Turdburglar: I think you just about summed it up. Frankly I don't think the POTUS has any business speaking out about a court decision.

Smagboy - You know damn well what I meant by his own kind. I was referring to his race. Quit acting so dang sensitive. It wasn't derogatory.

DP and Smag - I do think his comments were A BIT divisive. He is taking sides. He made comments excusing black Americans bad behavior, saying it's because of past history. He should have said justice was served, and left it at that.

It's my opinion that black Americans would be doing themselves a favor if they would stop defending people who don't deserve it, just because of their skin color. They should distance themselves from the garbage, while supporting decent productive members of society instead. That is why no one takes Jesse and Al seriously.

Obama was smoking pot at age 17? That's what he just said...

Race Card = The Only Card Liberals Have.

I used to have people act "nervous" around me when I was a "youth" too. It happens to EVERYONE.

The only people who brought "race" into this are Trayvon and Jackson & Sharpton. And now Obama joins the chorus too. Shameful.

It is my understanding that the only time race entered into the Martin/Zimmerman case was when Zimmerman was referred to as a "creepy-ass cracker".

So STFU Obama.

Martin illegally assaulted a legally armed man who legally defended himself.
