Heterosexual sex = babies.
That is the biological function.
To deny that is to deny reality.
If you make the ADULT choice to engage in ADULT activity then you must face the ADULT consequences. But killing a baby because it's inconvenient for you is a sin. I'm not religious, but that is a sin.

madduck - nothing in life is 100%. To use that as a standard to justify killing babies is ridiculous. And yes, there is ONE contraceptive that is 100% effective...abstinence. But even I'm not fool enough to think people will stop having sex! I just ask that we act like adults and live up to the consequences of our actions. AHA! That's the problem! People want the fun of adults, without the consequences. Instead of asking for an "easy out".

Gerry- Contraception is not 100%, and some foetal abnormalities are not good. Both good reasons I think.

I'm an open minded, liberal conservative. I have no religious prejudices. Yet I have never heard a compelling argument in favour of abortion. Contractiption is so easy and affordable. It's laughable that anyone would be dumb enough to have an unwanted baby.

Justify it all you want. In the back of your mind you know it's a baby. A living human person.

i do understand why texas is anti abortion though.. i mean imagine if people could choose not to have children with down syndrome. the state population would decline rapidly towards extinction.

@borbo of course they would and rightly so. it's the choice of the mother/ father. And not someone else. now tell explain to me, how could an elephant have made that decision? thank dog for yellow and red zebra crossings aye?

I think we could tell the difference easily if it was 21 weeks along and that's what the Texas law is protecting. Bet you most of the abortion absolutists would have a fit if someone did a partial birth abortion procedure on an elephant baby.

This was cute. I had my comment halfway finished in my head by the time I finished reading it.

Nicely done.

Ha Ha very clever.
They have to ridicule the opposition because they don't have a logical justification.

Seriously, 5 month limit and safer clinic standards is what is considered draconian abortion law in 2013.

Texas abortion law puts the limit at 5 months. 5 months, yes. In France, the limit is 12 weeks. In Germany, 12 weeks plus mandatory counseling and a waiting period. In Holland, it's about the same as what this Texas bill will make it, 5 months.

5 months.

5 months.

As well as regulations for safety so women don't die like in Gosnell's clinic. Oh no! Clinics that don't meet the standard are actually going to have to make themselves safer??? Imagine if we used that logic about food safety or any number of things.

If this is restrictive, people don't know what oppression is.

We are supposed to believe 5 months is restrictive.

5 months has been called "return of the American Taliban".

So, we have a photo of something that is not a human being with text stating "this is not a human being." Pointless.
