about a minute and a half in, or some, I got so bored, I'm wondering why no one is picking on Africans, or Australians, or Nazis. British? Seriously?

One USA Indepence Day the IAB community was split asunder with battle cries of 'Merica F*ck Yea to one side and America F*uck You to the other. Heaps and heaps of documentation to be had but still no one knew what *really* happened. All we know is the aftermath resulted in IAB changing to ACGP (all cat girl porn).

Hmmm
looks like the usual 'open forum'
kinda like a gypsy wedding night
you know s hit is gonna go, and it always does
always about stupid history stuff, occasionally religion, but you just know open forum always ends up in a scuffle behind the beer garden

Lol, and @piperfawn never fails to diaappoint. Day late and a dollar short as always however.

Just to let you know, not all Americans drink to get drunk you biased greaseball. In fact some do not drink at all.

See what I did there? Made an assumption based on you being Italian that naturally you're a greaseball when it may or may not be the case.

Wow. I don't think I've ever been quite so disappointed with all of us as a community. And to think it all started the other day when I couldn't even send up a cotton candy cute scene from an ancient movie as a gesture of goodwill without someone leaping on my back to tell me it's not accurate (no s#it, it's '60s Hollywood, it's not meant to be a documentary) and completely missing the basic point therein.

That being that even though it's our party, I would gladly include anyone who wanted to celebrate and have a good time and that I bear no ill will towards anyone else either. (Quite the contrary in fact)

Yet It has devolved into the ugliest pissing match with no one able to take or even recognize a joke and tempers flaring high. I'd tell everyone to take a breath and eat a Snickers but then I'm worried I'd be accused of shooting someone's mother so... Peace Out.

talon0325-"What the hell do you think if Japan had dropped it on the states first?"

If they had had it, and the ability to drop it, they WOULD have. And they were working on it.

A few facts:
The two A-Bombs that ended WWII killed between 150K & 246K people (FYI, 250K < 'millions'.)
If the A-Bombs had not been utilized, a ground invasion of Japan would have cost an estimated 400K to 800K allied lives, and 5-10 million Japanese.
Japan murdered 6 million Chinese, Indonesians, Koreans, Filipinos and Indochinese prior to, and during, WWII. The soldiers had a fun game they callled 'Catch the baby on the bayonet.'
Hiroshima and Nagasaki were legitimate targets.
Japan had been warned it would face "prompt and utter destruction" if they did not surrender by the Potsdam Declaration .

@piper

It would take much more to insult me than that. I just thought it was curious that the Americans here were being painted as petty and "touchy" when their reactions were merely defensive.

If you look back in the conversation, the belligerence did not occur until people from other countries started being snide. That alone is rather damning.

Piper- The bloody 5th is nearly over LOL...

... and yet you all are STILL obsessed with denouncing it! You people really ought to just let it go already.

Who is worse? He who celebrates himself or he who slanders another?

madduck when i say "emotional" i mean rivers of beers and booze,i am pretty sure that the major part of our fellows here have allready lost the conception of time since one day at least. Better to rememeber them that time is still flowing despite their fireworck games.

Ok kids keep your "emotional" day. Tomorrow is another day and knots will allways come to comb...you like it or not (supposing you are aware of the world outside your little garden,obviously)

Ummmm, last I checked that 'bigger portion' wants your nation and culture to burn as well. Just sayin...

@HumanAction hit the nail on the head. The majority of 'peans that have posted in this and other Independence Day threads did so to spoil the event.

Then you're all going to say we need to do this or that, or that we're touchy? Well ummmmmm, yeah we probably are just as you all so fiercely defend your own respective countries.

@listypoos:
I spent the day with family and friends and celebrated what the day was intended to mean all those years ago. A day people like my grandfather, 3 uncles and myself fought to protect. I did not celebrate it with the current government and it's policies in mind however. I said it in a different thread and I'll say it here. If all the naysayers were to worry more about their own countries and less about what we Americans do on our holiday maybe the world could be a much better place.

@madduck

WOW... Americans are touchy aren't they?

As is evidenced by this thread, about as much so as are Europeans. The difference appears to be that, while Americans are off celebrating their holiday, Europeans are busy trying to spoil the event.

Imagine if I came to your birthday party and told you how much you suck. I believe you would defend yourself.

"WWII : sorry guys but you never won this war, USSR did. Most of german forces were deployed on the eastern front, and basically russians took Berlin."

WWII ended when Japan surrendered to the US. Not before!
