Update: The judge in the Zimmerman trial has put OSC re Contempt on the prosecutors for withholding evidence from the defense. That means she doesn't want to make a circus of it now, but will decide the punishment for the contempt charge after the trial. It's not known what they were withholding, but obviously it was something that showed Zimmerman's innocence. If it showed his guilt the prosecution would not hide it.

Source on this is Anderson Cooper. I googled but didn't find any other sources to confirm this .... yet.

"The only question is: WHY did Martin go back and confront Z?"

According to his girlfriend, who he was on the phone with, Martin said some guy was following him and he was gonna find out why, then he hung up. Trayvon approached Zimmerman, not the other way around as Nancy Grace & Al Sharpton would have you believe.

when the dispatcher told him to leave the situation alone he should have.

@collegebound: Z did stop! He stopped (he had lost sight of Martin at this point anyhow) and then walked back to his truck. This is an established fact.
The only question is: WHY did Martin go back and confront Z? Why didn't he go home, leave or whatever?

Ooo... creepy deja-vu feeling...

Good day for the defense!
Caught the prosecutions witness making up new details she's never mentioned before. Didn't look too reliable.

Crakr, nowadays most people define "injustice" as "I didn't get what I wanted".

Gerry: Agreed Grace and Valez are notorious muckrakers. If I were a defendant's counsel one of the first questions I'd ask a juror is if they ever watch either of them on TV and if they do, then dismiss them from service based solely on that fact.

Media trials do nothing but taint juries and bias the public. CNN, HLN and others have already judged him guilty and convicted him, which serves only to heighten tensions, create hype and raise expectations for a guilty verdict.

When that expectation and hype doesn't match the verdict, later, many people will see it as injustice solely because of the media's reporting.

Agreed, Lie Detector tests are so fallable they are laughable. But the media and many people put great store in them when someone fails....so why not point out he passed one? It doesn't prove innocence, but it points out to the idiots like Nancy Grace and Jane Valez Mitchell what life-sucking gossipmongers they are.

Collegebound - Yes, there is a neighborhood watch in that area, Zimmerman was a part-time captain and fellow neighborhood watch members have voice defense of him.

As for Dispatch, they said "keep an eye on him" while Z was in the truck. When he got out they said "we don't need you to do that" but you are under no obligation to obey 911 operators. The operator testified they cannot give orders or instruction. Zimmerman could simple have wanted to follow from a distance to see where the "hoodie" went and inform the police when they arrived.

Further, Martin told his girlfriend on the phone he was going to find out why that guy was following him. Martin instigated contact and the confrontation.

collegebound: I believe you've been misinformed by the media. Trayvon had 2 of the 3 ingredients to make a drug called "Lean", which is Arizona Watermelon Drink, Skittles and cough syrup (like Robitussin). Btw, It was not iced tea that Trayvon bought, Arizona Iced Tea is the brand name of the company, Trayvon is on the convenience store video buying the Watermelon Drink and Skittles. All he needed was the cough syrup. On his facebook account, now closed, he discussed making Lean and getting cough syrup from others to do so.

That is likely why Zimmerman thought Trayvon looked suspicious, it's likely he was looking to meet up with the person supplying him the cough syrup and was interrupted from doing so.

When Penn & Teller debunked the validity of so called "Lie Detector" tests, I've been against them ever since.

Having said that, the evidence, corroborating testimony of eyewitnesses and passing a LDT is all in Zimmerman's favor. This never should've went to trial.

also lie detectors are head games. its all about how good of a liar you are. if you are bad, your heart rate skyrockets becuase you panic. if you are good, your heart rate doesn't do poo becuase you DON'T panic. its not that hard. that being said you can fail a test just as easily as you can pass.

"So what if he called 911 before? It was his job as part of neighborhood watch to call 911. Doesn't the fact he never chose to be confrontational indicate he is not likely to have confronted Travon?

not only is Z not part of any neighborhood watch but there ISNT one to begin with. he did all of this on his own. when the dispatcher told him to leave the situation alone he should have. the fact that he didn't only proves to me that he meant to be "confrontational" to begin with.

i will agree with you again that T's past should be admissible in court. its not like it can hurt anything and it doesn't REALLY have anything to do with this particular case. did he glorify the "thug life" yea. but all he was doing THAT NIGHT was going home after buying a bag of candy. Z got overly suspicious, called the cops, was told to back off, got into an altercation with T, and when he got the chance shot him. after T was clearly calling for help (they DID prove t

Still arguing over the prior 911 calls.
I think they're irrelevant. But the prosecution doesn't seem to have evidence, so they need to chip away at him, make him look like a racist even if he's not.

So what if he called 911 before? It was his job as part of neighborhood watch to call 911. Doesn't the fact he never chose to be confrontational indicate he is not likely to have confronted Travon? But Travon has had a history of confrontation {attacking his school bus driver, fights at school}. Of course, Travon's past is not admissible in court.... how biased can this judge get?

Thank goodness you know that Lie Detectors are bullpoo! They really are. THAT could be why they are NOT allowed in court as evidence ANYWHERE on Earth! Eh?

I know! I took one! It's just a form of torture! Never, ever again will I allow that to happen to me!

Overall: I welcome the poop hitting the fan! HIT IT! HAAAARD!!!!

I know if I ever decide to murder someone, the FIRST thing I'm going to do is call the police and tell them to get someone there right away. Then I'm going to start a fistfight with the guy, and just before he fractures my skull, I'm gonna bust a cap in his azz.

i will agree with you and say that lie detectors are bullpoo. had one brought into school once for show and tell and i passed it easy.

i gotta agree with Gerry on wanting to see Z get off free for the riots. though i think that he DID wrongfully shoot T its been too long since i've seen FL in the news.

that and personally i would rather see someone collect on that bounty the panthers put up.

Amazing that anyone here thinks that can possibly know if he's guilty or not guilty.

Exactly. I don't have any f*cking clue one way or the other. Having said that, my money's on acquittal.

@McGovern: Lie detector test? That's complete bullpoop! Sorry dude, but "lie detectors" are about as accurate as chicken entrails...
Horoscopes...

Seriously! You know who passed a lie detector test? The Green River Killer, that's who! Never, EVER submit to one! I speak from experience! It's just another form of police torture!

Just the facts, that's all that is needed for an absolute discharge!
Now will the facts be "allowed" in this political 'show trial'? That remains to be seen.

Obama has already declared Zimmerman guilty... Ghod Forbid any Judge in the USA should disagree with 'The 0' !!

I hope he is found not guilty.
Partly because I believe his story and the evidence supports it,
and because the following riot will be fun to watch.

Andrew: Sadly, I have to agree with your comment.
The media has mislead and spun this so badly, demonizing not only him but his entire family, that an acquittal will become another lame excuse for mass violence.

I'll be praying for all of you that live in Florida, when the time comes, stay safe.

Wouldn't be surprised if this came (back) to America if the jury goes a certain way.
