Now, aren't you glad you paid so much extra for that river-front property? Enjoy!

I titled it Calgary because how many people know where Canmore is? Unless you live in Alberta or have watched The Royal Canadian Air Farce.

Yeah, that's Canmore,Alberta. Calgary because it is a large urban centre is a whole lot worse. To DRACULYA: Remember what you said the next time you get in a: TRAIN,PLANE,CAR,BOAT or MOTORCYLE,SCOOTER!

This is what happens when you cut the trees down and burn fossil fuels. You made the bed now sleep in it.

You know, Ollie, it's typically Fox News that mistakes weather for climate--not usually people who support AGW science.

S4S, I believe in most if not all cases, they're just trolling the AGW alarmists who are CONSTANTLY attributing EVERY unusual weather event to AGW.

At least in Manitoba, our floods are SLOW! Serves them right for living near those mountains! (j/k! We know floods and this one's bad!)

The loss of life is mercifully low, thanks to excellent disaster planning, unlike the floods in India, where such things aren't possible. (those are in VERY remote locations!)

The cost of the Alberta floods will be horrific though. Prepare for insurance companies to pull out more "loopholes" than you thought ever existed! (Just like after Katrina, eh?)

@ OldOllie: *ahem* You know, Ollie, it's typically Fox News that mistakes weather for climate--not usually people who support AGW science.

Every time there's a snowstorm somewhere, Fox anchors lean into the camera and say, "Where's your global warming NOW, Al Gore? Huh? Huh?" This is usually followed by a self-satisfied chuckle and shake of the head at how "stupid" Al Gore is.

For all you gullible global warming alarmists who can't seem to grasp the difference between weather and climate, this is weather.

Sympathy for the people, but as videos go, it's hard to impress me after the Japanese tsunami videos. THOSE were dramatic.

This is actually Canmore, Alberta. That is about an hour and a half drive away from Calgary. I know this because I live in Calgary and my boyfriend is from Canmore. Oh, also video title is "Cougar Creek Flood Canmore, Alberta Canada".

The Bow River and Elbow River in Calgary are also flooding though. A lot of downtown is underwater, several roads are closed and communities have been evacuated, including one my friend lives in. He's staying with us for a few days.

Building Commissions continue to ignore 100yr flood plains when the rich wave mass money. The saddest thing is that all our insurance rates go up because we're paying some schmuck for building in a flood plain.
