I'm thinking Bill Gates could put a sentence together properly and that this is the lamest piece of fakeness ever created.

Somehow I have trouble believing that Bill Gates would be using broken English.

@Sleepyhallow, seems like it's relatively straightforward. Copyright exists for created works and as such would apply to any of his work that has been created to date. Copyright cannot be used to protect work not yet created.

Trademark could cover anything created under a brand or label for the future - is this what you are thinking of?

Alternatively an artist could be signed to contract, with work created whilst under contract reverting to the contract holder (commissioned work).

But essentially, buying copyright means buying the rights to an individual work as it stands, it makes no protection of future, non-derivative works.

Not about to happen...

Anyhow, Bieber would just make a crapload MORE music, and 2 craploads MORE money. Do you really want that to happen?
