What amazes me with this attitude is the fact that these gun owners seem to think they are immune to other people's guns

Actually, gun owners are much more aware of other people out there that have guns. We just automatically assume it. Yes, we can still die from a bullet but the odds of survival are much more in our favor.

What amazes me with this attitude is the fact that these gun owners seem to think they are immune to other people's guns if they have one themselves. You can still die to a bullet, even if you have a concealed weapon.

"it's funny that all over the state I see people from all over the US looking for jobs"

It's because of your vast untapped natural resources; but you don't have to move to Texas to cash in, just go long NYSE:CXW

"When are we going to insist that these uneducated 3rd world asshats secede as they keep threatening to?"

But then you'd have a longer border to secure from all the uneducated 3rd world asshats.

I shouldn't complain. Hong Kong has a tiny border, but 1.3bn uneducated 3rd world asshats on the other side.

The "Don't Mess With Texas" ad campaign was for littering that got out of control and turned into a pissing match with everything. I live here and can't stand what it turned into.

I could not show this to my husband because then we wouldn't be able to shut up about Texas because he is originally from there..I am sure he has seen this sign already anyway..I love him very much, but sometimes he drives me nuts with the whole Texan BS...

Sure Texas is screwed in some ways, but damn we sure do have a lot of jobs.

This was the same as the province I just moved from. I, for one, wouldn't be proud of the number of prisons I have, but then we don't privatize ours. I'm also going to go out on a limb and assume that most of the jobs in Texas have to do with natural resources, that's why my old province wasn't really bothered by the recession, and why it is currently listed as the city in Canada with the most employment, or at least fewest job seekers per job posting, at around 40 to 1. I'd be somewhat concerned about Dutch disease if a place is putting too much emphasis on natural resources though.

texas is a great place with "booming" jobs if you don'wt mind that your company can take shortcuts and blow up entire neighborhoods. Also not saying Texas isn't a great place it's just not for me

Everyone is more than ready to bash on Texas, but it's funny that all over the state I see people from all over the US looking for jobs. Sure Texas is screwed in some ways, but damn we sure do have a lot of jobs.

... And as many as 20% of the executions we carry out turn out to be against innocent people.

I guess when you encourage gunfights AND prosecute for killing another, you NEED that many prisons.

When are we going to insist that these uneducated 3rd world asshats secede as they keep threatening to?

Not that I was tempted, but one place I would rather not visit thank you - and there was me hearing about all that southern hospitality.

it fills me with Texas Pride to live in a city that Texas once considered selling to New Mexico.

And you don't look much like a steer, Pvt Cowboy, so that kind of narrows it down.
