Angilion, what were the negative side effects?

No idea. It's a proprietry drug, so they might not have to disclose them. Their website says nothing about it.

Something like this honestly would be completely worth it. Say people with obesity were given drugs that inhibited myostatin, they'd probably see a drop in weight due to increased muscle mass which would increase their metabolism as a result. Add to this the fact that people are more likely to be active when it isn't as physically difficult, and you have a awesome way to help people reduce their body fat percentage while making physical activities seem much more accessible due to increased strength because lets face it, even walking is much more difficult when you weigh 400 lbs.

Oh no, wait, I'm out of date. The trial was a failure. Works safely on mice, doesn't work safely on humans.

There is an error in this video. He says that myostatin-reducing drugs are a long way off. In fact, they entered clinical trials *on humans* last year. They've been using them on animals for years - those mice are not naturally occuring (although the dogs and cows are). They're already pretty sure that they're effective and safe (in sensible doses) for human use, which is why the human trials were approved.

Right now, they're a proprietry research drug owned by one company which is keeping very tight controls on them because they want to sell them for shiploads of money. That's why they're not available on the black market. Once they're out of trials and in production, they'll go on the black market. There are no known side effects at sane doses and there are no current tests for the drugs, so their use for performance enhancement is, as he says in the video, inevitable.

Frankly, I'd take them myself.
