How far does the film go through the books? It's obviously got the giant statue of Arthur throwing the polythene cup, but that's quite late in the series, they can't fit alll 5 books into one film, surely?

and I think it's quite clever how they've done Marvin, after all he's supposed to be "your plastic pal who's fun to be with", it stands to reason that he would look cute, he just happens to have a brain the size of a planet and a horrible pain down all the diodes in his left side

I haven't read the books yet. I've seen some of the BBC version on PBS. I might check out the movie. Seems like a great, funny story.

If you haven't read any of the books, the movie might not make a lot of sense. I've read the entire series about four times now, and it's STILL as funny as the first time I've read them. People have high expectations about this film because the books were so wonderfully written. It IS possible to make great movies from great books. "Lord of the Rings" is a good example. It's also possible to make BAD movies from great origins. The new Star Wars movies are almost too painful to watch. That's what happens when you don't put respect into the work.

the only thing that bothers me is the heads because its stated in the book he has two heads. As for Marvin I also had a different image in my head but I like the irony of this cute little robot being Marvin. Finally I think the casting for Author is perfect!

I agree with Kathaclysm. Nothing is going to be exactly the way you imagined it because the movie is from someone else's imagination. And all of the "this person is too this and that person is too that" stuff is your OPINION. Obviously the person who made the movie doesn't think so. Get over it.

Doesn't seem right. Marvin's too cute to be the downard he's suppose to be, Arthur's too dorky, Beeblebrox only has one head. Doesn't have the old time quality I imagined. I have a feeling I won't like it, so I'm just not going to go, same with Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. Turning books into movies just makes the books seem worse in my opinion. Won't stop anybody else from going though.

I have been reading these books for so many years - I love 'em! I agree with the people who are upset as to the changes. It's true there are budget limits and so on, but if you can't do something right, don't f**king do it! I'll definitely see the movie, although I hope it's not another case of "book murder".

*eye roll* silly ppl with their "expectations"... get a grip, it's not gonna be like you imagined it in your mind... due to cost and practical limitations, as well as this actually having been dreamed up in someone else's mind. If you think you coulda/woulda done better... go get your film degree.

Yeah, I was wondering where the second head was. I've read them all except Mostly Harmless, so I'm probably going to have unreasonably high expectations for this movie.

I was pretty sure BeebleBrox had two heads, not two faces. If that's not accurate, how accurate will the rest of the movie be? I also imagined Marvin taller, less cute. Still looking forward to seeing the movie, though. I'm on the second book right now, which I must say I find hilarious. I don't think I've ever read something this funny. I didn't know funny books existed.

That looks sooo good. I can't wait to see it. Plus from what I've read on it, this movie will be pretty close to the book. I hate when the movie is nothing like the book it's based on.

Thank you for the preview Buddy.

It had better be awesome, or a lot of people will be very angry...
