1) Phonetic speech
2) The "house"/The wheel.
3) Paper/design/book keeping/historical accuracy/deliberate fiction
4) Indoor plumbing/Thomas Crapper's toilet
5) The electrical grid/large home appliances/person to person long distance comms
6) ships/trains/paved roads/the automobile/modern shipping logistics

Are people so accustomed to civilization that they don't notice having roads and living in a house is unnatural?

Do people not understand "the manufacture of historical writings for the sake accurate records" was an advent?

Have you ever tried to live without electricity?
Did you experience living inside the US area blacked-out in 2003?

Beyond all of that: The ability and complexity of human speech is weird.
