I think the real problem in this case is police training. They are so afraid that no situation can be solved anymore with common logic. Guy does not want 4 cops in his house, i understand what about just one guy, unarmed? Giving something back, compromising to defuse the situation like a normal person would?

Instead they escalate the situation. Not because they want to, but because that's how they are trained these days. No one goes in alone. period. No one backs out an inch in fear of losing authority even when the decision was wrong from get go and they know it.

No common sense from either side. And police are the one who are required to stay calm and use.... common sense. That's what bothers me in these videos, use of "standard procedures" instead of using your own head. Two people hands up in air. Check.. 4 cops with guns and tazers: check. No injuries on either civilians: check. This probably is not a crime happening here: check. Procedure: bust in, t

Not enough information here. But it appears no warrant and no probable cause. Man and woman both told them to go. The cops are not to diagnose battered woman syndrome. We are not a country who has to lie down and be complicit when the cops come. I would say I always side with liberty and the police have to prove they are right. That is how it works in a suppression hearing. The state has to prove it did not violate the constitution.

Do we know why they were called out and by who? The people filming can say what they want. Maybe they saved some abused kids. There is nothing conclusive on the video.

Not to mention that a good chunk of your 'FTP' crowd are probably already criminals of some kind to begin with?

Awwww, I'm accusing a group of people based on the actions of some you say? I rest my case...

Sounds like the PD is probably better off without you.

Unless your name was MrTwidget I didn't pfft you...

If you're going to retort with a reference to another video is shouldn't be one you failed with as well.

All you 'FTP' people should find yourself a nice island and live totally free of law enforcement. We'll see how long it lasts...

I like it when people post the names/addresses/phone numbers of cops when they do stuff like this.

Since no one is allowed to police the police, it's really the only option we have to give the power hungry pricks what they deserve: fame for being an non-nice individual.

F[u]ck the Police!

It's power-mad, bully-with-a-badge krap like this that made me quit the force.

These asshats live for this. They plan it out and look for ways to create situations where they can beat the tar out of some poor sap.

Don't think for a minute that the police are there to protect you.

And for the record since that was a posting on I-A-B when it happened those 4 cops did in fact get fired and still face the prospect of criminal charges.

It's possible that, while the guy was ranting to the cops about his rights, his bruised and bloody wife was motioning to the cops to come in and save her. I'm not saying that's what happened, I'm just saying it's counter-productive to jump to conclusions based on ninety seconds of video. That being said, FTP.

5Cats But is obvious...in order to protect the woman, the police had to break in and taze the poo out of her. Like when they have tazed and pushed face to ground that pregnant woman in the parking to protect the child in the womb.

Cant we make an area with no police so all those that hate them can go there to live and see what it is like?

@chicagojay: They DID! It's called "Detroit"

If the police get a call for domestic violence? they ARE coming into the house. It might be a small violation of your rights? But it saves many lives. Screaming at them won't make them run away...

I wonder why they Tasered the female first?

'In other states it's worse, the cops are required to arrest someone on every domestic violence call.'

Citation needed.

Hmm, yeah- however. They wanted to see for themselves there was no domestic violence. Unless they could get the wife alone whatever she said is suspect. I would never have dared say something was wrong unless I was 100% certain my ex would not be able to get to me afterwards. Better safe than sorry.

well also if they thought there was kids in there and that they were being mistreated. Cops were in the right. I love how much this video is taken out of context.
