Cory, there are similarities in the way wind flows (air currents) and the way water flows. That's about it. Flying and swimming are like walking and riding a bike.

Cory, swimming relies on resistive forces and reaction forces whilst flying is the product of lift. They arent the same thing at all.

@gerry, swimming is the same as flying, just in a thicker medium. (air is just a very thin liquid, i.e. gas)

That's good. Lots have tried to make the Enterprise fly, from rockets to this, but the best example of didn't fly at all.... it swam.
