Yeah this video is pretentious, how sad is this society that we have to tell people; "HEY! You're not the center of the universe! Be patient and kind to others! Don't have a bad attitude!"

Isn't this just common sense?

@Thecurt: Ummm, I'm pretty sure that calling people older than you "geezers" is one of the things David Foster Wallace is advising against in this address.

Remember this is targeted towards people that don't have as much life experience as you before you judge, geezers.

this is all just a bunch of crap built around his hatred for SUV's. HELLO ?? Most SUV's are small, V6 engines. Large Pickup Trucks have been around forever, why do these liberals ignore them? Because they have no clue, they just follow whatever liberal bandwagon fad is hot at the moment.

I have to say, I found there was an awful lot of tedious art here and not much matter. Nine minutes to say, essentially, "As you enter the adult world, remember to have a good attitude"?

I made it through 3 minutes, and I wish I had bailed sooner. If this idiot had been speaking at my graduation, I'd have walked out and picked up my diploma at the office the next day.

First world problems...

OK, so I have no problem with working stiffs, like myself, grocery shopping after work. But I happen to live in a tourist destination. The over-whelming majority of people here are retired or on vacation. Why the F*CK do they have to shop at 6:30 PM on a Tuesday? Especially the people who are vacationing AND retired (old). I follow them in the front door and they come to a COMPLETE STOP! They stand there dazed, looking around, like it's the first goddamn time they've set foot in a grocery store. They are completely oblivious to the possibility that someone behind them might also be trying to walk through the door!

I'm pretty happy all the time, because:
1. I love my job, it pays for my stuff, I didn't have much stuff before my job.
2. I love routine and grocery shopping, FU yes I like these things
3. Being an adult is awesome, so far I have enjoyed it a million times more than when I was child. I like being able to make my own decisions.
4. This video is dumb, but it is good to change your point of view, If your struggling to do so, volunteer once a week or something, doing that made me decide to always be happy, and to always be thankful for things, even the seemingly crappy things. Cause some people have it badddd, like really bad...

"I am the center of the universe"

If people could see past themselves and their wants and needs, they will see that they can still be met by putting others first. It is possible to have all you need and want after putting others first.

And you would be put first more often as well.
