Canoas,
"So you'd rather have murderers set free, who will probably kill again, instead of having 1 innocent in jail? How does that make sense?"

Are you volunteering to be "the one innicent" that is jailed?

If you were the innocent one being railroaded into a prison system because they were too busy getting EVERYONE then you would understand.

I'd rather a guilty person go free so an innocent man can as well--that guilty bastard will be caught eventually, but there is no bigger injustice than the justice system imprisoning unfairly.

"I'd rather 100 guilty men go free than one innocent be put in jail. And, too, if found innocent, to honor you, I'll take a good look at it again. Fair? "

So you'd rather have murderers set free, who will probably kill again, instead of having 1 innocent in jail? How does that make sense? You're killing several innocent people so one of them doesn't go to jail.

@SmagBoy1: Every MSM media feature I've ever seen, every MSM article I've read, every "left wing" (ie: Pro-Martin) blogger, every time Sharpton or his fellow "race baiters" talk about this case?

Zimmerman is called "white".

Honestly, not exaggerating or anything. They may mention his "mixed heritage" but the headlines always say WHITE...

To be sure, I've only ever heard of Zimmerman being called white by posters here. To me, if he identifies as Latino, that's how he should be referred to as. I'm surprised any news outlet would call him white (although, of note, many forms that ask for "race" don't include a Latino designation).

What the news won't tell you is before this happened the neighborhood had a bunch of home bugluries with two suspects described similar to what travon looked like.

Are you really, really, absolutely sure? I think he's determined not to file.

They should include a series of questions like these in the wedding vows.

"I thought we had a right to self defense,"

Unless the media pick up the story and stir up a fire storm. Unless black congressmen comment on your guilt before you've even been charged. Unless the Black Panthers put a 1 million dollar bounty on your head "dead or alive". {Illegal but no one charged them with a crime.} Unless the Reverend Al Sharpton COUGHsharlatonCOUGH hits town with his traveling road show to stir up hornets nests.

The "Stand Your Ground" statute doesn't apply here. He had already lost his "ground" when Martin had him pinned on his back and was bashing his skull against the concrete sidewalk.

This is a simple case of self-defense.

I was going to respond to some of the comments here, but after reading them, the stupidity was overwhelming.

why is this even going to trial anyways? I thought we had a right to self defense, this is ridiculous. If Trayvon was a white kid this wouldnt be as hyped. Reverse Racism at its finest.

shamrock - so, because Zimmerman followed him from a distance of 30 feet, Trayvon Martin has a right to beat him up? To pound his head against the concrete? And Zimmerman does not have any right to defend himself, just accept the beating. That is in effect what you are saying.

Also, Martin is in no way responsible for his actions. He's not liable for his choice to beat someone up? He is completely blameless for his own aggressive actions?

Guilty or not the way this pre and post and everything else poo is going I don't think there will ever be a trial, we will be waiting next year at this time and everyone will still be bitching who's right.

Yeah, he's a stand up guy. He had his bond revoked for lying to the court.

Of course he declined Stand Your Ground. It wasn't Stand Your Ground. It was simple self defense, and he will win with that defense. If he tried for SYD, he would lose.

Everybody can argue about this all they want. Only two people know what happened that night. One of them is dead.
We will never know what happened. Please, get back to your idiotic banter. I bet you all argue on facebook too.

You can follow anyone you damn well please. There is no law against following somebody in your neighborhood, especially from a distance.

This is now a political matter, and so people will throw all common sense into the wind, so their "team" can win.

SAD.

The article suggests the defense cannot ask for this "immunity" again, but the BBC News guy said they could at any time during OR AFTER the trial...

That makes sense to me.

That the Z-Defense chose to bypass this option suggests (to me) that they have a strong case! And fear a "political Judge" would simply "kick the can" to a trial anyhow, rather than face public wrath with a (well deserved) acquittal...
