Kidney stones are like getting thumped in the nards for hours/days on end. Nasty stuff. So if you ever get pain like someone is trying to twist a nard off and it does not stop you probably have a kidney stone. Every man should have one to appreciate the child bearing wife more!

I've had six kids, one set of twins included. However, I would much rather have another child than a) have another tattoo b) break a limb c) have a tooth absess (all 3 of which I consider to be more painful than giving birth)
But then, I think men should generally have to be kicked in the balls while their partner gives birth, that would make us feel better :)

I knew a woman who had 3 kids; she also had 2 kidney stones. When asked which was more painful, she replied that she'd sooner have 3 more kids than another kidney stone.

@paperduck: Temperature regulation. Sperm only functions (or forms for that matter) in a very narrow temperature band. If they were internal it would be too hot!

Some research has been done into "warm underwear contraceptive" for men. But it's not nearly 100% and most guys don't like walking around with "hot nutz"...

@DrProfessor: I agree, it's a really silly thing to try to compare...

I've had lots of painfull things happen.
Biopsy through my jugular vein. (fun) 4 eye surgeries (you're awake for those)
Upon awaking from a 3 month coma, full body shingles.. Collapsed lung, kidney failure twice.. Defibulation for about a minute.

Still hate getting hit in the balls though.

Okay- well in the UK women are encouraged to manage. They can have what they ask for- but ante natal they make sure you understand the risks. From experience I know that the longer you can stay up and moving the quicker it is.
As for kidney stones- I have been told they are the worst, I also once burnt my hand extremely badly- that made childbirth seen positively pleasurable.

I'm a male. I've had kidney stones. My urologist's receptionist asked me which was more painful, passing a stone or giving birth. I told her I wasn't qualified to answer that.

@Stormith

I know what you mean, I would never compare the two. My wife spent 26 hours in labor with our first son with no pain killers at all. She isn't exactly the best at dealing with any other type of pain, but that pain looked excruciating. Glad I don't have to experience it.

@Madduck

Like I said, every woman I've known that has delivered a child (except one) has opted for the epidural. Maybe American women aren't as good at dealing with pain.

Kegomatix- 99% of women do not receive an epidural, it is not beneficial to the mother or to the child. Generally speaking women are encouraged to manage with self hypnosis backed up by a little gas and air, then a pethidine shot and only to have an epidural if absolutely necessary. Once an epidural is administered women cannot get up and walk around thus, lengthening labour. The two are not comparable- and why would anyone want to- is pain some kind of competition now??

Balls are worse...here's my proof.
Movie theater full of men and women.
Actress gives birth...some people ooh and ahhh.
Actor gets nailed in the balls...EVERYONE groans
...men and women.

@Kegomatix
epidurals are such a new invention, our species and societies were built on long, arduous, extremely painful labour. Lots of women never made it, they died because of childbirth alone. I mean, if you're going to bring that into it then we should have to consider how bad getting hit in the balls hurts if you then take morphine.
I'm just gonna say, a guy gets hit in the balls in a matter of seconds. Sure, you have a residual pain, but it's different. Childbirth as a process takes hours of increasingly painful labour, many women even have their vaginas torn by a baby's head. No one can really think that being kicked in the balls is anything like giving birth, not seriously.

But according to god, isn't childbirth woman's punishment for poisoning man with an apple in the garden of eden? i.e. women have it coming.

I love how f-ed up religion is. Retards.

He forgets the fact that 99% of women receive an epidural to deal with their pain. Maybe it's less than 99%, sure seems like it though. Every woman I've met has gotten one during childbirth. With the exception of my wife, who did both of hers without any pain killers.

beternal it's the cervix, opening to the uterus, he's talking about. You wouldn't be entering that.

I would say guys have it worse. The potential of birthing a child is about every 9 months, a guy can get kicked in the balls and experience the tie breaking pain any and every day of the week.

Why haven't we evolved so our balls are protected by a skull of some sorts? It would look kind of freaky, but a shell makes whole lot of evolutionary sense.

It would take a really awful kick to the balls for me to try to compare it with what a woman goes through in childbirth.
