I had a feeling all along that it was going to turn out to be some half-arsed clowns. Gunpowder and bb's seem too crude, even for Al Queda.

It was only a matter of time before the media turned him into hero.

I believe Uncle Joe coined a new phrase today when he called them 'knock off jihadis'.

So, they weren't master criminals at all, just your run-of-the-mill fanatical Muslim barbarian filth.

All of this serves to point out how much harder it would be track down people, let alone intercept, who knew what that hell they were doing. It's a scary thought.

But ask any cop: Most of the people committing crimes in real life are clowns.

@Squrlz4: That's correct! I've heard many Officers say that if criminals weren't so STUPID they'd be much harder to catch!

@FoolsPrussia: I think they "planned" to get away scott-free! When that plan fell apart, they hastily came up with "Plan B". Not too bright of them.
But I agree: so far there's little to suggest others helped them plan or carry out the attack. Except possible training in bomb making back in Russia...

WOW! That answers a lot of questions I had about this case. (assuming, as usual, that it's correct)

Thanks @Draculya!

#4 They obviously expected to "get away with it". Only after their photos were released did they think they might get caught.

#5 This one is really mysterious. Why on Earth did they (reportedly) walk up to a cop sitting in his car and shoot him?

#7 Ah! The mystery of the "7-11 Robbery" is finally revealed! That's AMAZINGLY bad timing. z-o-m-g!

#9 They were hungry! Also it's good to stock up on snacks before a road trip! (To New York or Washington to set off more bombs...)

#11 So they could plead insanity? Otherwise I got nothing...

They were just amateurs.

There's a simple truth that, for some reason, people have a hard time accepting: Most of the people who commit crimes are not acting intelligently, either in the course of committing the crime or in other spheres of their lives.

Perhaps one reason people have a hard time accepting this is that criminals are seldom portrayed this way in books and movies because it would be boring. Instead, fictional criminals are all clever, methodical, and disciplined--and, thus, are worthy opponents for the book or movie's hero.

But ask any cop: Most of the people committing crimes in real life are clowns.

"Which is based on the word of the media--nothing else."

The guy who lost both his legs (from the now-famous picture) helped identify them. He said he saw Tamerlan put the bag down, so it's not that big of a stretch, especially when you look at how they behaved after the bombing (killing the MIT officer).

Yes, you are innocent until proven guilty, but it's not that hard to see these guys doing it.

Said it before, I'll say it again. This doesn't add up. What about their "statement"? Why is there no videotaped/written/tweeted confession about their reason & purpose--even if it was anonymous to get media attention?

This has a bunch of holes in it.

Even more disturbing are the reactions of so many: "They did it. They are guilty, etc etc."
Which is based on the word of the media--nothing else.

The truth & reality is, we DON'T know exactly what happened yet. We should ALL be asking questions.

Think of it this way: what if they got the wrong guys, and the REAL perps are getting away with it!?

I'm NOT suggesting a Conspiracy... I'm suggesting that we are jumping so quickly to place blame & guilt without all the information. Imagine how upsetting it would be if these boys were just patsies, and the REAL terrorist mastermind is out there, FREE?

That is a very plausible possibility in all thi

Clearly these guys didn't put too much thought into this. That's why it's always seemed ridiculous to me to try to connect them to Al Qaeda or another organized group.
