Wendypants: I've never had a problem with milk in a jug going bad, unless I didn't look at the date on it. Most of the time it lasts two weeks, that's normally plenty of time. Bagged milk just seems like an accident waiting to happen.

Ollie: Didn't say I'd want to bake one, just try a taste.

Bagged milk = being able to have 1/3 of 4L milk usable while the rest is still properly sealed/kept fresh and so lasts a lot longer than
...
big 4L jug = ALL the milk starts the process of going bad the minute it's opened... how is this better?
Oh, and poutine freaking rocks! Don't knock it 'til you've tried the real deal.

Gotta straighten out a couple of things here:
Solvent - Bagged milk was designed to cut packaging costs and fit into a plastic holder for pouring from. I think they might have it back east still, but I haven't seen it since I was a kid. It didn't go over here.
BigWaFuu - Don't know where you went, but BBQ chips are available everywhere, in any brand, for those who like to peel the skin off the roofs their mouths. Ketchup flavour is pretty rare now.

Visited canada. Ketchup is apparently a popular flavor up there. Ketchup flavored chips were everywhere and no BBQ in sight. They didnt taste that great...

I actually make a salsa cake cupcake that has jalapenos and tomatoes in them and I know people that make tomato soup cupcakes. My salsa cake cupcakes are like carrot cake but they have a little bite to them. They are absolutely fantastic!!

How can it be "Great Canadian" if I've never heard of it in 50-odd years? Sounds vile. And presumptuous.

Isn't there an old recipe where you use a can of tomato soup in a chocolate cake. It makes it really moist without adding any tomato flavour. I would assume this is the same idea...

I wouldn't eat it now as I'm vegan but, I remember eating poutine as a kid- it was pretty tasty.
