I think Kitty just wanted them to scrub that f*cking tub before sticking her in it. Ick, nast.

Titled by someone who has never had a cat freak out on them. I've had cats (and helped clean friend's cast) where, if you weren't in full plate armor, you'd be bloody by the time it was over. This cat just yowled, it didn't go for flesh.

If you give them baths as kittens and keep it to a once a month or quarterly schedule, they know what's coming and don't freak out. In fact, I don't even have to hold one of my cats in the sink and I think he may enjoy it.

On another note, that is one awesome pussy, and she has a cat, too.

That water's no where near deep enough to drown it.

@Squrlz4: It's true, something like 80% of allergic people can be helped by weekly cat-bathing. Not perfectly, but vastly improved. They're allergic to something in the saliva, which gets deposited on the fun, which then sheds everywhere...

@Nickel2: This is true! The "licking" part is instinctive, but "grooming" is learned.
I had a kitty who thought he was a dog (at first). Another cat had to teach him many cat-like behaviors. Like proper grooming. He learned fast! Was a spotlessly clean kitty after that

I couldn't get by doing this to my kitty very often, she would tear my butt up so bad I would probably need stitches afterwards..it isn't worth it to me, she can be a mean little witch sometimes..

"This video freaked my cat out hahaha"
Might be because the sound in the video is "RUN AWAY!!! I'M BEING EATEN!!!"
That's just a guess...

Some cats do not have the self-washing instinct built in. As a result they do tend to get a bit wiffy, and have to be bathed sometimes

Question: I heard once that bathing a cat once a week removes dried saliva off the fur, which apparently is one of the key triggers for human allergies. Has the thinking changed on this?

Also: Props to whichever mod made the teaser pic. That's got to be one of the funnier ones I've ever seen.

Idiots. Unless there is some reason for a bath (Flea bath, dermatitis etc.) Cats do not need a bath. It's only weirdos that bath cats.

@carmium: They can't clean off everything. Sometimes they can get something sticky on them that will forever matt their fur until cleaned. Or they can get something on them that smells awful.

Like 5Cats said, it wasn't struggling that much, so it wasn't terrified. My Mum's cat used to make a noise kinda like this if she shut the bedroom door at night, because she wanted attention at 3am.

Poor sweetheart! It was actually VERY cooperative

Make sure the water is HOT! Kitties like it that way.
Put a towel or rubber mat at the bottom of the tub! The cat will feel MUCH less afraid if he's not "slipping and sliding" eh?
Get someone else to hold kitty while you use both hands to scrub.
Make sure to RINSE WELL!

kitty didn't look dirty. The don't need bathed unless something happens and they need help (like paint spills on them)

Why do you have to bath a cat?! Unless a skunk got him or something, this is just traumatic and pointless. Plus, the laughing camera guy is an insensitive prick.
