What I dislike is that normal people tell people with mental disorders the same thing. The chemical imbalance in the brain causes the loss of higher cognitive function not the other way around.

The secret is: "We become what we think about" 7:30, and a few seconds later: "A man's life is what his thoughts make of it"

It's an interesting saying, because I've seen this in many personalities on the Internet over the years. It can easily be seen in almost any comment board on the internet, which people ponder thoughts of negativity and hate, since their words show a bit about how they are. This is why i feel it's best to ponder thoughts of positivity and love. Because if we are thinking of positivity and love, that is what we will be.

May be old, but good post Duke!

This is from a 1961 recording entitled, "How You Can Lead The Field in the Modern World" 'It's Easier to Win' by Earl Nightingale. Nightingale Conant Corp. 333 N. Michigan Ave. Chicago Il. I thought I had heard it before and looked in my collection and sure enough I have this very message on vinyl.

I had to stop this video after about 90 seconds - too much drivel. You want to define my version of success? Fine. Do it over there, please, and leave me alone.

stop video at 1:42...kids. kids ruined it. if you dont have kids and aren't chasing after happiness end yourself. my sister in law has had my kids for the past few days and i feel alive again (spring break). dont get me wrong, i love my kids and would die for them but, they are ruining my life. they are little egotistic megalomaniacs that contribute nothing but pain to my life and my love for them is unmeasurable.

guys i posted this i dont belive in any god... but this guy has goten one thing right 100% right
(you are what you think about) and until you can change what you think about you will remain the same person. another simaler quote (beware your thoughts for your thoughts become your words beware your words for your words become your actions beware your actions they become your habits and beware your habits for they will seal your fate) your mental attitude towards everything life throws at you defines who you are nothing else.

The boat set out with a clear course but it was a Princess Cruise line so everybody got dysentary and the engine caught fire and had to be towed.

My point of view - work hard, and always look to replace those above you. 12 years ago i was cleaning toilets for a living, looking at the warehouse staff thinking i'd like their job. 10 years ago i was a warehouseman looking at the office admin thinking i'd like their job. 8 years ago an office admin. 6 years ago an office controller. 4 years ago an office supervisor. Decided i'd rather work with computers than people as they make more sense. 3 years ago became system analyst. 2 years ago decided i wanted more money. 18 months ago became IT professional & doubled wages. True story, every word. Decide what you're going to do and do it.

TLDR:
Get a goal and work for it and you will reach it.

Didn't understand the guy's name (last 20 seconds)

Maybe you better think about what you want to achieve for 10 minutes instead of watching these 30 minutes..

The measure of success is not where you end up, but what it took to get there. Example: If a Kennedy becomes a lawyer is it a big deal? It takes more work for a kid from the slums to become a lawyer so who's more successful?

I've heard all this motivational stuff when working as a salesman. Greed might motivate people for awhile, but in the end you'll realize that friends and family are more important than mounds of money.

Didn't make it 3 minutes in before i realized the fundamental misunderstanding of success on the part of the narrator, but from the comments i gather it only got worse.

@skytz1337: its practically religious nonsense. im not talking spiritual. its just "believe in MY god, because look at all the wonderful things he does, MY god is true." you feed it to people dumb enough and whatever happens, they associate it.

heres some positive thinking. everyone cannot be what they want. you need people working retail, gas stations, and restaurants. so if everyone that wanted a specific job, set their "goal" to it, the available jobs couldnt hand them all positions, even if they were all equal in skill and desire.

It's basically the same bullpoo as "The Secret".
Imo is a waste of time to watch motivational videos, listen to audio tapes and so on.
All of those can be sum up in 1 sentence : Do what you love and the success will come. (I'm not saying it's not true..but you don't need hours to explain 1 freaking sentence.)
I just saved you 30 minutes of buzz-words...you're welcome.

He does drone on a bit. At 19:25 there is a summary.

My life's goal: To attain godhood. The world has never had a god to date and it deserves one of my calibre.
