Water yes, grass yes, sand no, cause it would blow it out of the pit. Wouldn't take long to mess them up and the surrounding area. Also on board with how loud it would be, specially with a bunch of them going.

No imprint on the grass? How about when it's just parked there, what does it weigh on the grass? Drive anywhere you want instead of the cart trails. That will impress the other golfers when you rip down their fairway. Piss off the grounds crew when you send that across a sand trap or blow freshly cut grass clipings into a pile on the greens. What an arrogant SOB. Hope he gets a 9 iron upside his head when he spooks someone at the Tee.

Shelworth: That's just what I was going to say; they're very careful not to record the sound. They'd be great for the grass, but unless they can make this thing electric... and even then, the fans would still roar.

do you have any idea how loud hovercrafts are? I can't imagine15-20 of those things cruising around a golf course!

If this becomes a normal thing, I might have to start playing golf! Or maybe I can just be a golfer's chauffeur.

Well, definitely interesting. And, hey, when you can own your own course, and employ your own ground staff, why not?

Obviously racing will have a higher impact the just cruising, but I am pretty sure the grounds keeper will get very upset with the damage the hovercarts would do over time.

Great idea with the lighter footprint and all but way way too loud for a golf course.
