actually- I have heard of this happening in several places, it seems to work- because of course you do not want the staff to see you are poor or mean, so to make yourself look good you buy stuff for others...

Like everything else, it's a good idea in theory but would never work out in the long run. People would most likely take advantage of it and ask for free sh*t even if they had a pocket full of money. Why spend your own money on something when you can spend someone else's money on it?

Oh wow, this would be a beautiful way to contribute to the less fortunate...not just the homeless but those who are at risk, struggling to buy food for their kids on a single minimum wage incomes...or for the hypoglycemic who doesn't have a snack or a wallet on hand (and who can reciprocate next time), or for the Uni student putting themselves through school etc.

But there's also the obvious risk that some people may take advantage of it.

nice idea but it would never work with greedy americans/businesses. people would pay for the pending item and the business would just keep the money. or people would ask for pending items all the time to get free stuff.

Link: The Pending Coffee [Pic] [Rate Link] - Starbucks should make this a new policy.
