I was 18 and found a 100 on the ground at my store I knew that if I hid in the bathroom for the next half hour I'd get to keep it. I didn't and less than a minute later some dude who looked like he was about to cry asked me in broken English if I had found it. I just held it out to him. He was gonna hug me but I gave the I have mace look.

Hmm, I walked into a local Sheetz last month, and noticed a single bill lying on the ground. I picked it up and asked the two gruff looking guys at the MTO computers if they had dropped it. They looked at each other, then at me, and said nope, it's your lucky day.

But I guess I only asked because they saw me come in.

How you act in situations like people here describe perfectly informs us about your parents. If you aren't honest, your parents sucked at parenting.

Looking at you, Gerry and panth753

At the supermarket the other day, the cashier tried to give me $10 too much change. I had to argue! Another customer even told her I was right, it was too much.
Mistakes happen, eh?

@HolyGod That's a lot of cash, but it's true: you'd feel bad about it in the long run.

Many years ago I was in a market in Southern Sudan and dropped my wallet without noticing. It contained about £50 in local currency. A kid ran after me to give it back. I had to be quite insistent before he would accept even 20%.

If someone drops money now I can't not point it out.

I was at Michael's once and the little old lady in front of me dropped 4 $100 bills when she took her money out. Nobody noticed it and nobody was behind me.

I thought about it for half a second and then bent down, picked it up, and handed it to her.

I couldn't have lived with myself otherwise. But I WISH she would have been some fat obnoxious woman yelling at the store clerk and being a bitch. That $400 would have been headed across the parking lot to Best Buy.

I don't tell the person they dropped money. I just take it and act like nothing ever happened.

I'll tell you you dropped it... for a single.
$5 and up I consider it a gift from Karma.

I'm a very "You dropped something" person. I probably would have done the same thing without realizing what was going on.
