@draino123

"i didnt know my brights were on."

"when he did that i swerved horribly and almost wrecked."

You really don't sound capable of operating a vehicle...if you can't tell when your high beams are on, and if when startled with an unexpected light you senslessly swerve (instead of, oh I don't know, just keeping your wheel where it was with one hand and shielding your eyes with the other?)

i was once driving in my New Surburban late one night and was behind a cop who was slowing down, i didnt know my brights were on. he immediately pulled onto the right shoulder and slammed on his brakes. i thought for sure i was getting pulled over ( still didnt reaize my brights were on) the cop whipped around me as soon as i passed and pulled up on my left. i didnt see his police lights on so i though i was ok. he kept speed with me for about a quarter mile until i actually turned my head to look out my window. as soon as i did he shined his spotlight directly in my eyes. i have very sensitive eyes and when he did that i swerved horribly and almost wrecked. my question is, How did i bait the cop? also, what would the cop have done if i wrecked? would he have cared? Cops shouldnt do anythning that can endanger anyones life

Awesome: There are days when I miss the 'old school' way of handling such an asshat.
Pull him from his vehicle and introduce him to the application of the blackjack.
Yes,I know that is not P.C. or touchy feely and against logic and reason = blah blah blah.
but a FK tard understands a visit to the hospital better than a 'verbal' dressdown and a ticket.
Baiting an officer was just not done back a few decades ago = unless you wanted to bleed.
We would rather enforce the laws than meet out street justice, and that is no longer possible due to lawyers, cameras, empowerment of asshats.

I miss those days too. /tear

We would rather enforce the laws
We

ladies and gentlemen, your standard asshat police officer. you can't defend what the officer did, doing so only shows how much you DON'T respect laws or the public. Do us all a favor and resign before you get someone killed trying to meet your ticket quota.

Why can't we just tag the "Pic+" posts something more appropriate? Like "News", for example.

I defend cops all the time on here, but this cop was wrong.

One good thing, with all of this filming going on, maybe we can slowly weed out the few bad cops and be left with just the good ones. Then, we can be protected and I don't have to hear "drat the police" by some twit kid that would be begging for a cop if he needed one, every time they are mentioned.

"baiting an officer" Magentab0b, seriously? the cop sped around him and slammed on his brakes causing an accident. the cop should not have been causing traffic and then should not have swerved in front of walton and slam on his brakes. also i use to brake check, then i turned grew up and realized im only going to cause an accident. your being the asshat by engaging such people. let them pass and be the better man.

I tap my breaks to communicate with people. I don't break check but I do tap to indicate cruising speed or momentum slowing (up and down grades). It would be a seriously dick headed move if someone accelerated into a tap not a check.

"Walton, who they said often drives around recording video of law enforcement officers trying to catch them in bad situations"

Last time I checked, this isn't "illegal"...

Thank for the update Smagboy1!

Yeah, that cop is POS, he's lying trying to deflect his responsibility. I've had jerks try to engage me. You know I do, I let them pass and it's over.

"I fell for it line and sinker." Give me a break, he chose to do this. Screw him and for the record, if the cop wasn't holding up traffic, would he of "baited" him?

Regardless of if the guy baited the cop or not, they're supposed to be trained to keep their cool in situations like that. Like CaptKangaroo said, the cop was also blatantly disobeying a handful of traffic laws that are there for the safety of all drivers on the road. His job, as a cop, is to enforce those very same laws he was breaking so he gets absolutely no sympathy from me. Good luck finding a new job, I'm sure malls are always in need of good security guards.

Who cares if the guy with the camera was "fishing." The officer was wrong wrong wrong. If you don't want to be filmed being a jackass then don't be a jackass. It's really that simple.

So if the speed limit was 60, and if the cop was doing 50- in the left lane- he was obstructing traffic. Cutting in front of the vehicle he passed so closely is reckless, as is brake checking. That's three driving violations in less than 5 minutes- not to mention a lack of professionalism, and I'm guessing they weren't his first three. One has to wonder how many tickets he's written for those very same infractions over the course of his career.
As far as this 'known antagonist' goes, he did nothing overt that I saw. Police dress up as hookers and drug dealers to 'offer' the opportunity for folks to break the law- are we to label them as antagonists as well?

he got trolled. his fault. seriously though, the deputy should have just rode on. That being said, he does work in a military county and probably deals with this crap day in and day out and just hit the boiling point.
